More and more highly rated prospects in the 2026 and 2027 classes are including Syracuse football in their list cuts.

I've documented in recent articles how the Orange has made the top five or the top 10 of numerous four-star targets, and I've got additional developments in this regard to share in this story.

Let's start in the 2027 cycle. Last month, four-star athlete/defensive back Gabriel Jenkins out of the Imani Christian Academy in Pittsburgh included Syracuse football in his top eight, per his X page. Others to make the cut were Michigan State, Maryland, Kentucky, West Virginia, Penn State, Pittsburgh and UCF.

The 6-foot-2, 186-pound Jenkins, offered a scholarship by Syracuse football last October, currently checks in at No. 52 nationally, No. 6 at cornerback and No. 3 in Pennsylvania, according to On3.

Syracuse football remains in the running for other talented recruiting targets.

Defensive lineman Alexander Haskell, a high three-star prospect in the 2026 class, recently named a final four of the Orange, Michigan, Penn State and Duke.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Haskell, out of the St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia, picked up a 'Cuse scholarship offer last May. At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite had him at No. 501 overall in his cycle.

Sean Johnson, a 2026 three-star cornerback out of Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md., recently disclosed a top 10 of Syracuse football, Virginia, Florida State, N.C. State, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Maryland, Penn State, Indiana and Michigan State.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Johnson, offered by the Orange in December of 2023, is rated the No. 37 cornerback and the No. 8 prospect in Maryland, according to Rivals.com.

Recently, 2026 four-star defensive lineman/tight end Damari Simeon of the St. Augustine Preparatory School in Richland, N.J., listed Syracuse football in his top 10. Simeon is a top-50 national prospect in his class, per On3.

Additionally, 2026 four-star athlete/defensive back Hakim Satterwhite of the Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore has the 'Cuse in his top 10. The same goes for 2026 four-star defensive back Khary Adams, who attends Loyola Blakefield in Towson, Md., while 2026 four-star wide receiver Davion Brown of the Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, Va., has Syracuse football in his top five.

To date, the Orange has at least nine verbal pledges among high school juniors, and the team's 2026 class is in the top 15 around the country, according to multiple recruiting services. Syracuse football also has at least two verbal commitments in its 2027 cycle.
