Syracuse football hopes to beat out heavyweight programs for fast-rising 5-star WR

Elite 2027 wide receiver Kesean Bowman from Tennessee has already garnered dozens of high-major offers throughout his recruiting process.

Add Syracuse football to his arsenal.

This week, per his X page, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound Bowman disclosed a scholarship offer from the Orange program, which is led by head coach and ace recruiter Fran Brown. A huge congrats to Kesean!

Bowman, according to 247Sports, is rated as five stars, No. 23 overall, No. 5 at wide receiver and No. 1 in Tennessee within his class. Last month, he made a massive jump in updated 2027 rankings from On3, and the bevy of recruiting services place him in the top 50 nationwide in his cycle.

Bowman is a standout rising junior at the Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tenn. In the 2024 season, as a sophomore, he hauled in 56 passes for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns, per his bio on the 247Sports Web site.

According to recruiting Web sites, Bowman has amassed more than 30 scholarship offer to date, and his recruitment could have a way to go. I'm excited to see the 'Cuse make a run for Bowman.

His full offer sheet includes schools such as Arkansas, Auburn, California, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Purdue, SMU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, USF, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin, among others.

At this juncture, On3's recruiting prediction machine has Southeastern Conference member Ole Miss out in front for Bowman, but that's likely to change as he takes more visits throughout his recruitment.

Per 247Sports, he has unofficially visited a couple of schools, including in-state Tennessee on several occasions, as well as Oregon and North Carolina, which is now led by NFL head-coaching legend Bill Belichick.

Syracuse football has three verbal pledges so far in its 2027 class, which is ranked No. 11 by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. These verbal commits are rated three stars. They are defensive back Travis Miles out of Hillside High School in Hillside, N.J., athlete Tank White of Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Fla., and quarterback Justin Dixon of the Concordia Preparatory School in Towson, Md.
