Carter Bonner, a 2027 4-star athlete from the Pittsburgh area, will be in attendance on Friday night as Syracuse football hosts North Carolina, a source confirms to me.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Bonner is a top-10 athlete and a top-200 national prospect in the 2027 class. He attends Penn Hills High School in Penn Hills, Pa., near Pittsburgh. According to his X page, Bonner only played in four games in the 2025 season due to an injury. He was an All-Conference wide receiver in 2024.
Per recruiting services, it doesn't look like Bonner holds an offer from the Orange at this point, although that could certainly change. His full scholarship offer sheet includes schools such as Michigan State, Penn State, Maryland, Tennessee, Rutgers, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, UConn, Purdue, West Virginia and Kentucky, among others.

In late September, a prediction was logged on Rivals in Penn State's direction for Bonner, although earlier this month, Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin was fired.

Four-state junior athlete Carter Bonner is visiting Syracuse football on Friday evening.
Bonner is a highly ranked and highly sought-after prospect in the 2027 class. The industry-generated 247Sports Composite places him at No. 187 overall, No. 8 at athlete and No. 7 in Pennsylvania. Over at the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking, Bonner is No. 192 nationally, No. 8 at athlete and No. 7 in Pennsylvania.
On Friday night at home versus the Tar Heels, numerous Syracuse football verbal commits and recruiting targets across several cycles are expected to be at the Dome to watch the 'Cuse try to halt a four-game losing streak.
Initially, 2027 five-star prospect Kemon Spell, the country's No. 1 running back in his class, was going to visit for the UNC encounter, but he has a high school playoff game on Friday. As I first reported, he has rescheduled his visit to Syracuse football.
Last week, the Orange secured verbal pledges from 2027 three-star offensive lineman Connor Long of Old Bridge High School in Matawan, N.J., and 2027 offensive lineman Marcus Small of First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Fla.
The 'Cuse is up to eight verbal commits among high school juniors, in a 2027 class that ranks No. 3 nationwide, according to the 247Sports Composite.
