Five-star prospect Kemon Spell, the nation's No. 1 running back in the 2027 class, will now take a game-day visit to Syracuse football when the Orange hosts Boston College on Saturday, Nov. 29, in the 2025 regular-season finale, a source confirmed to me on Tuesday morning.

Initially, the 5-foot-10, 210-pound Spell was eyeing a visit to the 'Cuse for its Atlantic Coast Conference encounter against North Carolina on Halloween. However, Spell has a playoff game on Friday evening.

Spell is a standout junior at McKeesport Area Senior High School in McKeesport, Pa., near Pittsburgh. Per MaxPreps, McKeesport is 7-3 overall to date in the 2025 campaign. On October 31, No. 1 seed McKeesport will host No. 8 seed Chartiers Valley High School from Bridgeville, Pa., in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League ("WPIAL") Class 4A playoffs.

Also expected to visit Syracuse football for the Boston College contest is one of Spell's teammates, 2027 four-star wide receiver and top-150 national prospect Javien Robinson, I've been told and other media outlets have reported.

Syracuse football will welcome some highly ranked recruits to the Hill in late November.

Spell received a scholarship offer from the Orange staff in May of last year. His offer list also includes schools such as Ole Miss, Nebraska, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Pittsburgh and Tennessee, among others.

These days, the Fighting Irish have analyst buzz in Spell's recruitment on 247Sports and Rivals. He took a visit to Notre Dame earlier this month. Spell had been verbally pledged to Big Ten Conference member Penn State, but he de-committed from the Nittany Lions and reopened his recruitment after head coach James Franklin was fired on October 12.

Naturally, there is intense competition for the 'Cuse to prevail for Spell, who is the No. 1 running back and a top-10 national prospect in the 2027 class. However, it's encouraging that Syracuse football coaches will get him on the SU campus for a visit next month.

Last week, the 'Cuse landed verbal commitments from 2027 three-star offensive lineman Connor Long of Old Bridge High School in Matawan, N.J., and 2027 offensive lineman Marcus Small of First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Fla.

Those pledges pushed Syracuse football's 2027 cycle up to eight verbal commitments. This Orange class is No. 3 nationally via the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
