Syracuse basketball assistant coach Ben Lee is expected to be in on Thursday morning for 2028 four-star power forward Damian Mojica during an open gym at his high school, Inside the Loud House has learned.
The 6-foot-8, 225-pound Mojica, a top-100 national prospect in the high school junior class, attends The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., which is part of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council ("NEPSAC").
Mojica picked up a scholarship offer from the new Orange staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara in mid-July. He took an unofficial visit to the 'Cuse in late June, and Inside the Loud House recently reported that Syracuse basketball coaches and Mojica are discussing him taking another unofficial visit to the Hill this winter, so that he can attend an SU hoops game.
Beyond the Orange, Mojica's full scholarship offer sheet includes Purdue, Oral Roberts, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Arkansas-Little Rock, East Carolina, Kennesaw State, Wake Forest and Oklahoma State. UConn has recently reached out to Mojica, Inside the Loud House is told.
This past AAU season, Mojica was a standout performer for the 16U team of the Bronx, N.Y.-based PSA Cardinals in Nike's EYBL league. He averaged 15.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
To date, the Orange coaching staff has offered roughly 15 prospects in the 2028 cycle, although it remains early in these players' respective recruitments.
Who else has Syracuse basketball watched during fall recruiting?
The fall recruiting period opened on September 9, and Inside the Loud House has first reported on various 2027 and 2028 prospects whom the Orange staff has been on hand for during open gyms at their high schools.
While this list is not meant to be fully exhaustive, here are some four-star and five-star recruits who the 'Cuse has been in attendance for over the past two weeks:
•2027 five-star wing/small forward Moussa Kamissoko of the Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio (SU has been to at least two open gyms for him; Kamissoko took an official visit to the 'Cuse earlier this month)
•2027 four-star wing/forward Ahmed Nur of CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix (he officially visited Syracuse in late August)
•2027 five-star point guard Nasir Anderson of Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
•2028 five-star point guard Michai White of Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
•2028 five-star center Bamba Touray of Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
•2028 five-star wing/small forward Will Brunson of the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
•2028 five-star wing Isaiah Hamilton of the Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla.,
•2028 five-star wing Xavier Skipworth of the Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla.
•Syracuse basketball was also recently at the Pro Day for the AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler, Ariz. One prospect to monitor with this powerhouse team is 2028 four-star guard Darren Ford.
