Mason Collins, a 2028 five-star wing, announced a scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball on Sunday evening via his X page.
The 6-foot-6 Collins, a top-10 national prospect in the 2028 class, had heard from the new Orange staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara since the contact period for his cycle opened on June 15. Collins was also garnering interest from the former SU staff under then-head coach Adrian Autry.

Collins is an elite prospect in 2028. His early scholarship offer sheet, beyond the 'Cuse, includes teams such as Florida State, Notre Dame, Georgetown, N.C. State, Villanova, Virginia and South Carolina. Since June 15, he's heard from many other high-major programs.
Earlier this month, Collins helped lead the United States U17 national team to the gold medal at the 2026 FIBA World Cup in Istanbul, Turkey. Last summer, he won a gold medal with the USA Basketball U16 national team at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup in Juarez, Mexico.
Syracuse basketball has offered a scholarship to 2028 5-star wing Mason Collins.
Collins attends The Tatnall School in Wilmington, Del. He previously played at the Christ School in Arden, N.C. In the 2025-26 season, Collins received an honorable mention nod for the MaxPreps sophomore All-America teams, as he averaged 17.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3.1 blocks and 2.9 steals per contest.
This spring and summer on Nike's EYBL circuit, he is suiting up for the 16U team of the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Team CP3. This past weekend was an NCAA-permitted live period on the AAU circuits, and the EYBL league held a session in Las Vegas.
The Orange staff, and SU legend Carmelo Anthony, were on hand in Las Vegas. It would not surprise me at all if Syracuse basketball coaches watched Collins over the weekend amid the live period.
In Sin City, Collins averaged 19.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.0 steals per game while making 57.8 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from beyond the arc and 64.7 percent from the free-throw line.
For the entire AAU season to date, he's averaging 13.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals per encounter while connecting on 45.6 percent from the field, 36.0 percent from 3-point land and 65.6 percent from the charity stripe.
Since McNamara took over on the Hill, the new 'Cuse coaching staff has offered numerous 2028 prospects and shown an interest in various others in this class, as Inside the Loud House reported here.
