Syracuse basketball has offered a scholarship to 2026 four-star small forward and top-50 national prospect Maximo Adams from California, and I'm told that he has a high interest in the Orange program.

If the name Maximo Adams sounds familiar, it's because the 6-foot-8, 200-pound player was first offered by the Orange under then-head coach Jim Boeheim, the Hall of Famer, in February of 2023. Boeheim would retire a month later.

Now Adams, who has been crushing things on the AAU circuit in recent months, has picked up a scholarship offer from head coach Adrian Autry, with assistant Allen Griffin serving as the lead 'Cuse recruiter for Adams.

Some of his other recent offers include Kansas, Washington and Georgetown, according to his X account. Per recruiting services, Adams' full offer sheet also includes schools such as Southern California, Missouri, West Virginia, St. John's, Xavier, Kansas State, Oregon and Mississippi State, among others.

Cory DeSanti, one of Adams' AAU coaches and also an adviser in his recruitment, says that Adams is discussing with the 'Cuse staff an official visit to Syracuse basketball for after students get back on campus later this year.

DeSanti, the owner and head coach of the Los Angeles-based Elev8 Elite, says Adams is also eyeing official visits to USC, Oregon, Arizona State and Kansas. DeSanti thinks that the Orange will be a "serious contender" for Adams.

Syracuse basketball has gotten back into the mix for 2026 4-star SF Maximo Adams.

Adams, the younger brother of former Orange recruiting target and Arizona State forward Marcus Adams Jr., is a standout rising senior at the Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, Calif. In mid-March of this year, Maximo Adams helped lead Sierra Canyon to the California Division I championship, the program's first state title since 2019.

According to MaxPreps, in the final game, Adams tallied 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. During the 2024-25 campaign, Sierra Canyon finished 27-7 overall and was ranked No. 29 nationally by MaxPreps.

In his super early top 25 for the 2025-26 season, top national analyst/scout Samad Hines has Sierra Canyon at No. 24 overall, according to a May post on X. Earlier this month, Adams earned high praise from analysts and scouts for his play at the annual Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas.

During the spring, Adams was a top performer as he competed for the 17U team of the Las Vegas-based Vegas Elite in Nike's EYBL league, where he has played alongside 2026 four-star combo guard Katrelle Harmon, who was offered by Syracuse basketball last month.

In the EYBL regular season, Adams averaged 21.2 points per game, which was No. 4 in the 17U division, while grabbing 11.6 rebounds per contest, which is No. 1 in this division. Next month, Harmon, Adams and Vegas Elite (7-4 overall) will suit up in the EYBL's annual season-ending Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, S.C.
