Syracuse basketball coaches are taking a close look at fast-rising 2028 point guard Jadah Washington from the talent-laden DMV.
The 6-foot Washington is a standout rising junior at the Sidwell Friends School in D.C. On the AAU circuits this spring and summer, he is competing for the 16U squad of the Washington-based Team Takeover in Nike's EYBL league.
Per a post on X from MADE Hoops scouting analyst Trent Watson, since the 2028 contact period opened, enabling college coaches to initiate direct communication with rising juniors, Washington has heard from teams such as the 'Cuse, VCU, UCLA, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Buffalo, among others. His early scholarship offer sheet features Saint Louis and Hampton.

At Sidwell Friends, Washington competes alongside 2027 four-star power forward Ian Condon, who picked up a scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball first-year head coach Gerry McNamara and his staff in late May.
Syracuse basketball is showing an interest in 2028 point guard Jadah Washington.
In the 2025-26 season, Washington won numerous awards and honors as a sophomore in helping lead Sidwell Friends to a 22-7 record and a fifth consecutive Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference ("MAC") Tournament title. Per MaxPreps, as a sophomore, he averaged 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 3.6 steals per contest while making 43 percent from the field.
This weekend has been a scholastic live period where college coaches have watched recruits as they suit up for their high school programs. The Orange staff has been on hand at several events, including Philly Live in Philadelphia, where Sidwell Friends has competed. Both McNamara and SU assistant coach Ryan Daly were at Philly Live.
For Team Takeover in the current AAU season, Washington is averaging 8.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 3.3 steals per contest while connecting on 40.0 percent from the field and 65.0 percent from the free-throw line.
According to his X page, Washington earlier this month took an unofficial visit to VCU, where Daly was an assistant before joining McNamara's staff. I'll be monitoring whether the Orange ultimately offers a scholarship to Washington, who is a talented floor general.
