On Monday at 8:00 pm EST, with television coverage on FS2, Boeheim's Army will battle the region's No. 4 seed, We Are D3. In TBT's round of 64, Boeheim's Army beat No. 8 seed Herkimer Originals by a final of 97-71.
We Are D3, meanwhile, squeaked by No. 5 seed Layne’s Hope, 75-71.
Boeheim's Army plays on Monday night.
Boeheim's Army won this event, and $1 million, back in 2021. It is one of the most accomplished teams in the history of the TBT, with an all-time record of 26-8.
We Are D3 has an all-time record in the TBT of 2-5. From the event's Web site: "We Are D3, a team composed of standout NCAA Division III alumni, is set to return to The Basketball Tournament (TBT) in 2025. After securing their first tournament win last year, they aim to build on that success in the upcoming competition."
In looking at its roster online, We Are D3 possesses a line-up that includes players who have competed professionally overseas or in the NBA's G League.
