Syracuse basketball is throwing its hat into the ring for a fast-rising big man in the 2027 class.
Per his X page, consensus four-star Cherif Millogo recently landed a scholarship offer from the Orange coaching staff. The 7-foot-2 center is originally from Burkina Faso in West Africa.
One of the top centers in the high school junior class, Millogo has seen his national rankings soar of late, and his offer sheet is also growing. According to his X account, his other scholarship offers include Alabama and Georgia.

Per media reports, Kentucky is also showing an interest in Millogo. He had been attending the CATS Academy in Boston, but Millogo didn't play basketball a season ago due to a torn ACL.
For the upcoming 2025-26 campaign, he has transferred to St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge, Calif. According to a recent article from Hunter Shelton of On3 and Rivals, St. Francis in 2024-25 started at 13-4 overall but struggled later in the season, finishing at 16-13.
Shelton anticipates that Millogo will be one of the top big men in the state of California during the upcoming term, regardless of class designation.
Syracuse basketball has offered at least 15 prospects in the 2027 class.
All the primary recruiting services have Millogo inside the top 75 nationally of the 2027 cycle. When I penned this column, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite had him at No. 42 overall, No. 6 at center and No. 2 in California.
Rivals places Millogo at No. 38 across the country. The industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking, at the time of this writing, had him at No. 74 overall, No. 7 at center and No. 7 in California within the 2027 class.

In late June, Dylan Thayer of the New England Recruiting Report wrote in a post on X about Millogo: "Just had my first viewing of the 7’4” Burkina Faso native, and there’s definitely a lot to like. He obviously has tons of size/length, but his mobility stands out as well. ... Did a great job rim-running, blocking shots and dunking all over."
Welcome to New England Cherif Millogo
