Syracuse basketball coaches are getting involved early on in the recruitment of a promising 2028 wing from the talent-rich Washington, D.C., area.
The Orange staff has extended a scholarship offer to 2028 four-star guard/small forward Xavier Skipworth, per his X page. A huge congrats to Xavier!

The 6-foot-5 Skipworth had an excellent freshman season in the 2024-25 campaign for a terrific DMV program, the Bullis School in Potomac, Md., which went 23-7 overall and captured the Maryland Private School State Basketball Tournament ("MDPSSBT") championship this past March, according to MaxPreps.
Last April, when MaxPreps national basketball editor Jordan Divens released his 2024-25 freshman All-America team, Skipworth received an honorable mention nod after averaging 10.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per encounter.

Syracuse basketball has offered a talented 2028 four-star wing.
On the AAU circuit this spring and summer, Skipworth is competing for the 15U squad of the Washington-based Team Takeover in Nike's EYBL league. Both Orange head coach Adrian Autry and assistant Brenden Straughn have deep ties to Team Takeover, as I've noted on many occasions.

Syracuse basketball rising sophomore power forward Donnie Freeman played for Team Takeover, as do Orange 2026 five-star targets Jordan Smith Jr. and Qayden Samuels in the 17U division.
During the spring, Team Takeover's 15U squad went 6-1, with Skipworth averaging 11.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. He's connected on 50 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from beyond the arc and 80 percent from the free-throw line.
This July, the EYBL will hold its season-ending Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, S.C., at which time Skipworth and his teammates will aim for the grand prize.
According to recruiting services, besides Syracuse basketball, Skipworth holds scholarship offers from Marquette and Purdue, along with interest from hometown Maryland.

Within the 2028 cycle, ESPN rates him as four stars, No. 14 overall, No. 5 at small forward and No. 1 in Maryland.
Last month, the Orange coaching staff offered 2028 point guard Tyylon Ennis of Pearland High School in Pearland, Texas, and the 15U team of Houston-based JL3 in the EYBL league. He is the younger brother of former Syracuse basketball star point guard Tyler Ennis.
Per 247Sports, the 'Cuse is also showing some level of interest in 2028 wing Billy Stanfield III and 2028 forward Jaylen Allen, who both play for the 15U squad of the Baltimore-based Team Melo on the EYBL circuit.
Stanfield attends Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Md., while Allen competes for the Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore.
