Four-star combo guard Ka'Shawn Gill, a Syracuse basketball recruiting target in the 2028 class, will play for a powerhouse program in the upcoming season.
The 6-foot-6 Gill, a top-80 national prospect in his class who was offered by the new Orange staff last month, will spend the 2026-27 season at the Southeastern Preparatory Academy in Orlando, Fla., according to social media posts.
In 2025-26, Southeastern Prep went 41-9 overall, according to MaxPreps. ESPN's final top 25 for this past season placed the Falcons at No. 13 around the country.
Southeastern Prep's 2026-27 roster, besides Gill, will feature 2027 five-star power forward CJ Rosser
and 2027 five-star point guard Beckham Black. The 6-foot-10, 200-pound Rosser, who held a scholarship offer from the former SU staff under then-head coach Adrian Autry, is the No. 1 overall prospect in the high school senior cycle, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
Checking in at No. 2 nationally in the 2027 class, per the 247Sports Composite, is the 6-foot-3, 180-pound Black. National analysts anticipate that Southeastern Prep, in 2026-27, will be a significant contender to receive an invite to the season-ending Chipotle Nationals.
Syracuse basketball 2028 4-star target Ka'Shawn Gill has a new home for the upcoming campaign.
Gill, who hails from Flint, Mich., has a scholarship offer sheet that also includes Toledo, Creighton, West Virginia, Nevada, Arizona State, the University of Detroit, Central Michigan, UC Santa Barbara and Eastern Michigan, according to his Instagram page.
As Inside the Loud House recently noted, the new 'Cuse staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara has offered or re-offered more than a dozen prospects in the 2028 class since taking over the program this past March.
In 2025-26, Gill played for the Phoenix-based PHH Prep, which operated as the Diamond Doves in the Atlanta-based league Overtime Elite ("OTE"). Last season, he completed alongside 2026 guard Ethan Butler from New York City, who is now a freshman for the Orange.
For the Diamond Doves, according to the OTE's Web site, Gill appeared in 12 games, averaging 14.1 minutes, 4.0 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per contest.

On Wednesday, OTE announced the 2026-27 roster for RWE, which includes Gill, Rosser, Black and several others who also play for Southeastern Prep, such as 2027 three-star point guard Aiden Groce, 2027 four-star small forward Marri Wesley, 2027 four-star power forward JJ Watts and 2027 three-star center Precious Sam.
David Peavy, the head coach of Southeastern Prep, will also serve in the same role for RWE in Overtime Elite.
In the latest AAU season, Gill was a standout performer for the Milwaukee-based Power 5 in the Adidas 3SSB league. He averaged 14.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while also connecting on 2.8 made shots from deep per contest.
Last month, at the Adidas 3SSB circuit's season-ending playoffs in Rock Hill, S.C., Gill dropped games of 31 points and 28 points, connecting on five 3-pointers and six 3-pointers in those two performances, respectively.
Another Syracuse basketball 2028 recruit will play in OTE this coming season. Tai Bell, a five-star point guard, was re-offered by the new Orange staff last month, and he took an unofficial visit to SU this past March.
As a junior in 2026-27, the 6-foot-3 Bell will compete for Miami powerhouse Christopher Columbus High School, which two seasons ago won the high school national title. Bell and other members of the Columbus roster will operate as the Cold Hearts in Overtime Elite during the upcoming campaign.
