It has proven quite the junior year for Syracuse basketball recruiting target Miles Sadler, a fast-rising four-star point guard in the 2026 class who hails from Canada and led his powerhouse Arizona high school program to a berth in a national championship tournament earlier this month.

This week, On3 updated its 2026 rankings. The 5-foot-11 Sadler, out of Brampton, Ontario, arrived as four stars, No. 20 overall and No. 4 at point guard within his cycle. Both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, when I wrote this column, placed Sadler inside the top 40 nationally.

In late October of last year, Syracuse basketball offered a scholarship to Sadler. He's a standout at CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix, which in 2024-25 had a breakout season within the loaded 14-member Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic").

Last fall, four players on CIA Bella Vista's roster scored 'Cuse offers. As it pertains to Sadler's recruitment, beyond the Orange, other suitors to keep an eye on include schools such as Arizona State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Mississippi State, according to analysts.

In some interviews, Sadler has spoken highly of the Syracuse basketball program, saying that he hears from the 'Cuse staff on a consistent basis. Let's see if the Orange can get Sadler on the Hill for a visit in the future.

During 2024-25, in large part due to Sadler's play, CIA Bella Vista was one of the top squads in the EYBL Scholastic. Earlier this month, the Bears were one of 10 teams invited to compete in the annual Chipotle Nationals, which ultimately crowns a national champion in high school hoops and was held this yearΒ in Fishers, Ind., near Indianapolis.

Sadler received inclusion, not too long ago, on the All-EYBL Scholastic first team. At the end of March, MaxPreps disclosed its 2024-25 junior All-America teams. Sadler was named to the first squad, with MaxPreps stating that this past season, he averaged 16.1 points, 4.7 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.5 steals per contest.

CIA Bella Vista, facing an extremely challenging 2024-25 schedule, went 21-7 overall and finished No. 6 in a national top 10 from MaxPreps that only includes programs that don't compete for state-affiliated championships.

Several other 2026 prospects who possess Syracuse basketball offers, or interest from the 'Cuse staff, also made the MaxPreps junior All-America teams. Five-star shooting guard Jordan Smith Jr. of St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Chantilly, Va., was on the first squad and also the MaxPreps national junior of the year.

On the third team are five-star point guard Dylan Mingo of Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., and five-star wing Abdou Toure of Notre Dame High School in West Haven, Conn.

Picking up honorable mention nods are four-star wing Jasiah Jervis of Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, N.Y., and five-star wing Qayden Samuels of Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Md.
