Syracuse basketball enters recruitment of 4-star Miles Sadler, a top-5 point guard
By Neil Adler
Syracuse basketball coaches recently extended a scholarship offer to one of the top point guards around the country in the 2026 class.
Four-star Miles Sadler, who hails from Canada and suits up for a powerhouse high school program in Arizona, said via his X page not too long ago that he had landed an offer from the Orange staff.
The 5-foot-11 Sadler is from Brampton, Ontario. In the 2024-25 season that is just getting underway, he is competing as a junior for CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix, which is a member of arguably the country's top high school hoops conference, the 14-member Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic").
Some high school hoops experts are projecting CIA Bella Vista as a top-20 national squad in the upcoming campaign.
Syracuse basketball 2025 five-star commit Sadiq White Jr., a senior at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and Orange 2025 four-star priority target Kiyan Anthony, a senior at Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., also play in the EYBL Scholastic.
Syracuse basketball has gotten into the fray for 2026 four-star point guard Miles Sadler.
According to recruiting services, besides the 'Cuse, Sadler's offer sheet includes schools such as Mississippi State, Iowa, California, Arizona State, Cal State Northridge, Weber State and Texas State.
Over the last several months, numerous recruiting analysts and scouts have showered Sadler with high praise for his performances on the AAU circuit and at other showcase events. Additionally, from late June to early July of this year, Sadler was a standout for Canada’s U17 national team as it played at the 2024 FIBA World Cup in Istanbul, Turkey.
This spring and summer in grassroots hoops, Sadler was a star for the Phoenix-based Arizona Unity in Nike's EYBL league. In July, at the EYBL's annual Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, S.C., Sadler averaged 16.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game for the 16U team of Arizona Unity.
When I wrote this article, within the 2026 cycle, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking both had Sadler in the top 55 overall and in the top 10 at point guard. Currently, his highest 2026 rankings are from On3, which has Sadler at No. 30 nationally, No. 5 at point guard and No. 4 in Arizona.
To date, Syracuse basketball coaches have offered scholarships to a variety of players in the junior class, including several point guards or combo guards. They include five-star Deron Rippey Jr., four-star Neiko Mundey, four-star Anthony Brown and four-star Prince-Alexander Moody.
