More than 10 Syracuse basketball recruiting targets are inside the top 40 of the most recent 2028 national rankings from ESPN.
The new Orange staff, led by first-year head coach Gerry McNamara, has been ramping up its high school recruiting efforts of late, particularly in the 2027 and 2028 classes.
In terms of the 2028 cycle, on June 15, 'Cuse coaches and their peers around the country could start initiating direct communication with prospects in this class. That includes e-mails, phone calls and texts. As such, we're beginning to see Syracuse basketball dole out more and more offers to 2028 players, who are rising high school juniors.
Below, I've included Orange targets who reside in the latest 2028 national rankings from ESPN, which includes 60 prospects. All these players either hold a scholarship offer or interest from the 'Cuse coaching staff.

Mason Collins
Wing out of The Tatnall School in Wilmington, Del.
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 5 stars and No. 6 overall
Since the contact period opened on June 15, Collins has heard from the Orange.
Isaiah Hamilton
Wing out of the Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla.
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 5 stars and No. 9 overall
Hamilton held a scholarship offer from the former SU staff under then-head coach Adrian Autry, and the new Syracuse basketball staff remains in pursuit of the Canadian product.
Xavier Skipworth
Wing out of the Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla.
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 5 stars and No. 12 overall
Skipworth, too, was offered by the former Orange staff. McNamara and his assistants have reached out to Skipworth since the 2028 contact period opened in mid-June.
Michai White
Point guard out of the Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H.
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 5 stars and No. 17 overall
White, in late August of last year, took an unofficial visit to the Hill to compete in SU's annual Elite Camp. He's also heard from the new 'Cuse staff since June 15.
Malik Moore
Point guard out of Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains, N.J.
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 4 stars and No. 27 overall
Moore has heard from Syracuse basketball coaches since the 2028 contact period opened in mid-June.
Rowan Phillips
Combo guard out of Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, Pa.
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 4 stars and No. 28 overall
Phillips has heard from the Orange since June 15. He also played in the team's annual Elite Camp in late August of 2024.
Kevin Wheatley Jr.
Wing out of the Masters Academy International in Stow, Mass.
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 4 stars and No. 30 overall
Wheatley held an offer from the former SU staff and has taken an unofficial visit to Central New York. The new Syracuse basketball staff has reached out to him since June 15.
Logan Chwastyk
Center out of the Malvern Preparatory School in Malvern, Pa.
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 4 stars and No. 33 overall
The 'Cuse offered a scholarship to Chwastyk on June 15.
Liam Mitakaro
Point guard out of CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 4 stars and No. 34 overall
Syracuse basketball offered Mitakaro last month.
Will Brunson
Small forward out of the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 4 stars and No. 39 overall
McNamara and his staff recently re-offered Brunson, and he has unofficially visited the SU program in the past.
Isaiah Carter
Wing out of the Highland School in Warrenton, Va.
ESPN's 2028 national rankings: 4 stars and No. 40 overall
McNamara offered a scholarship to Carter last weekend, on June 27.
