Ahmed Nur, a five-star wing/forward in the 2027 class, will begin his official visit to Syracuse basketball on Wednesday, a source confirmed to Inside the Loud House on Tuesday afternoon.
Previously, the 6-foot-9, 190-pound Nur was scheduled to start his official visit to the Orange on August 28. He is one of roughly a half-dozen 2027 prospects who are priority targets for the 'Cuse in the high school senior cycle.
A top-25 national prospect, Nur picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara earlier this summer. Nur, who hails from Minnesota, saw his recruitment blow up when he won MVP in June at the prestigious NBPA Top 100 Camp in Rock Hill, S.C., with McNamara and other college coaches in attendance.

The 6-foot-9 forward also has an official visit setup to Texas for September 4th. He’s taken previous visits to Purdue and Ole Miss.

This past weekend, Nur went on an official visit to Ole Miss. He has also taken an official visit to Purdue and an unofficial visit to Minnesota, an in-state college program for the Hopkins, Minn., native. According to national analyst Sam Kayser, Nur will officially visit Texas beginning on September 4.

As a senior, Nur will suit up for the powerhouse CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix, which is part of the loaded 15-team Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic") and won this past April's Chipotle Nationals in Fishers, Ind. He previously played for Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minn.
In addition to Nur, three 2028 prospects on the CIA Bella Vista roster for the 2026-27 season hold a scholarship offer from the Orange coaching staff. In recent days, multiple high school hoops experts have told Inside the Loud House that the Bears are a significant contender to win the EYBL Scholastic and earn a third consecutive trip to the season-ending Chipotle Nationals.
On the Adidas 3SSB circuit this spring and summer, Nur competed for the 17U team of the Milwaukee-based Power 5, where he averaged 12.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest. He also averaged 1.9 made 3-pointers per game.
While Nur holds around 30 scholarship offers, like many other high school seniors, he will probably trim down his list of contenders soon. Certainly, I'd keep an eye on those schools he has visited or will visit in the near future.
Nur's upcoming visit to Syracuse might shed a lot of light on his recruitment, Inside the Loud House is told. Another school to potentially watch is Vanderbilt out of the Southeastern Conference.
