Over the past few days, with the Syracuse basketball staff on hand, some of the top high school prospects and teams around the country descended upon Springfield, Mass., for the annual Spalding Hoophall Classic, which is arguably the premier showcase in high school hoops.
Numerous Orange commits and recruiting targets suited up from January 16 to January 20 for this year's Spalding Hoophall Classic. Per national analysts and scouts, these prospects with recruiting ties to the 'Cuse played at an ultra-high level against elite competition.
In this piece, I'm going to detail various strong performances by Syracuse basketball signees and recruits at the Spalding Hoophall Classic.
Syracuse basketball commits and targets were excellent at a loaded event.
Abdou Toure
Toure, who holds an Orange scholarship offer, helped lead his team, Notre Dame High School in West Haven, Conn., to a 51-37 win over Andover High School in Andover, Mass. Toure tallied a game-high 26 points on 8-of-16 from the field and 10-of-13 from the free-throw line, to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Sadiq White Jr.
White, a Syracuse basketball commit and a 2025 five-star forward, is a senior at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., which lost two closely fought contests at the Spalding Hoophall Classic. In one of those setbacks, White went 7-of-8 from the field and collected 17 points, five boards and one block.
Kiyan Anthony/Dylan Mingo
Anthony is an Orange 2025 commit and four-star shooting guard, while Mingo is a 2026 five-star point guard and 'Cuse recruiting target. They helped guide Long Island Lutheran High SchoolΒ in Brookville, N.Y., to a pair of high-quality victories over excellent foes at this event. Anthony had 17 points in one affair and notched 16 points in the other win. He shot a combined 11-of-22. The experts at The Circuit named Mingo their top underclassman at the Spalding Hoophall Classic, after he produced a combined 27 points in those two games.
Jordan Smith Jr.
Smith is a 2026 five-star shooting guard and a priority recruit for Syracuse basketball in this cycle. He unofficially visited the 'Cuse last September. An All-American as a sophomore, Smith was stellar as his squad, St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Chantilly, Va., defeated St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif., 60-57. In this triumph, Smith boasted 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting, while he added six rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block.
Darius Ratliff/Adonis Ratliff
Darius Ratliff, a 2026 four-star power forward/center, and his brother, 2026 four-star big man Adonis Ratliff, are receiving heavy interest from the Orange coaching staff, according to recent media reports. They are standout juniors at Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, N.Y. At the Spalding Hoophall Classic, Archbishop Stepinac beat Richmond Heights High School in Richmond Heights, Ohio, by a final of 66-56. Darius Ratliff had eight points, nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Adonis Ratliff tallied 11 points and nine boards. Both of the Ratliff brothers suited up at the Syracuse basketball Elite Camp held in late August of last year.
Deron Rippey Jr./Jaen Chatman
Rippey is a 2026 five-star point guard, has a 'Cuse offer and took an unofficial visit to Syracuse basketball last February on Jim Boeheim Day. In recent days, his team, Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J., competed in a sister event to the Spalding Hoophall Classic, called the HoopHall Prep Showcase, which also took place in Springfield. Blair lost to the Worcester Academy in Worcester, Mass., 67-63. Despite the setback, Rippey earned praise from experts after posting 14 points, two rebounds, six assists and one steal. His Blair teammate, 2026 three-star combo guard Chatman, is garnering interest from the Orange staff. At the HoopHall Prep Showcase, Chatman had seven points, four rebounds and one steal.
