Transfer forward Francis Folefac, a freshman at Siena, visited Syracuse basketball over the weekend and plans to visit fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school Georgia Tech this week, per a post on X from 247Sports national analyst Dushawn London.

The 6-foot-7, 245-pound Folefac had a strong freshman season in the 2025-26 campaign under then-Siena head coach Gerry McNamara. Last month, McNamara was named the next head coach of the Orange, replacing Adrian Autry.

Since the transfer portal opened on April 7 (it runs through April 21), there have been a lot of rumors flying around that Folefac might follow McNamara from Siena to Syracuse basketball. That certainly could still happen, although it's not a given, as Folefac eyes another visit coming up, this time to the Yellow Jackets.

As a freshman at Siena, Folefac averaged 28.1 minutes, 11.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 blocks per game while making 51.5 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and 74.0 percent from the free-throw line.

In 2025-26, the Saints went 23-12 overall and hung tough with No. 1 seed Duke in the first round of this spring's NCAA Tournament. Folefac was a unanimous selection to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference ("MAAC") All-Rookie team.

He hails from the talent-rich DMV, a key recruiting hotbed for the 'Cuse. As a senior at Mt. Zion Prep in Lanham, Md., Folefac was named to The Washington Post's All-Met second squad, and he helped his team to a top-25 national ranking, according to ESPN.

Syracuse basketball appears in the mix for Siena transfer forward Francis Folefac.

Here is the Orange's current 2026-27 roster:
•Ryan Moesch, a 2026 four-star point guard from Central New York
•Mark Morano Mahmutovic, a 2026 four-star wing from Slovenia
•Center Abdramane Siby, a 2026 prospect from Mali
•Freshman guard Kiyan Anthony
•Freshman forward Sadiq White Jr.
•Freshman wing Calvin Russell III
•Sophomore guard Noah Lobdell
•Sophomore guard Aiden Tobiason, a four-star transfer from Temple
•Junior guard Garwey Dual, a four-star transfer from McNeese State
•Sophomore guard Gavin Doty, a four-star transfer from Siena
•Junior power forward/center Tasman Goodrick, a transfer from Siena

Folefac is a hybrid small forward/power forward, as far as I can tell. He's likely eyeing a starting role with his future collegiate home, and that may not happen at SU. White will probably start at power forward, and I could see Mahmutovic or another guard starting at small forward (the Orange's group of guards has excellent positional size).

I'm not suggesting that Folefac won't end up at Syracuse basketball. Time will tell. It also won't surprise me if Folefac heads to Georgia Tech or another suitor out there besides the 'Cuse.
