Syracuse football has made the top six of 2025 four-star athlete Quintin Simmons Jr. from Ohio, he disclosed via his X page this week.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Simmons is a talented wide receiver and running back who attends Withrow University High School in Cincinnati.

Per his X account, Simmons’ top six consists of the ‘Cuse, Kentucky, Penn State, West Virginia, Michigan and Cincinnati, a home-state team for him.

He was initially offered a scholarship by the former Orange coaching staff in February of 2023.

Syracuse football is a contender for 2025 four-star athlete Quintin Simmons Jr.

Besides his six finalists, Simmons has picked up scholarship offers from schools such as Boston College, Louisville, Indiana, Michigan State, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Marshall, UMass and Missouri, among others, according to recruiting services.

When I wrote this article on Tuesday, I didn’t see any analyst projections for Simmons, although On3’s recruiting prediction machine did have Penn State in the No. 1 spot for him.

Over at 247Sports, Simmons checks in at No. 156 nationally, No. 15 at wide receiver and No. 6 in Ohio. On3 places him at No. 157 overall, No. 16 at wide receiver and No. 6 in Ohio.

Both of the industry-generated rating systems, the 247Sports Composite and the On3 Industry Ranking, have Simmons in the top 300 nationwide, the top 40 at wide receiver and the top 15 in Ohio.

Syracuse football coaches are quite busy these days with their 2025 recruiting efforts. Last Saturday, the ‘Cuse welcomed many targets in this cycle to the Hill for one of the team’s junior days, and they got treated to an awesome Syracuse basketball game at the JMA Wireless Dome.

In recent weeks, the Orange has made list cuts of numerous highly rated 2025 prospects who are nationally ranked in this class.

They include four-star edge Sharlandiin Strange of Cheltenham High School in Wyncote, Pa., four-star quarterback Malik Washington of Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md., four-star defensive lineman Ethan Utley of The Ensworth School in Nashville, Tenn., and three-star safety/athlete Jovan Clark of Morgan Park High School in Chicago, among others.

It's encouraging that the Orange has found itself in the top six for Simmons. Let’s see if the ‘Cuse coaching staff can get him on the Hill at some point for a visit.
