Syracuse football coaches, this past Saturday, held their first junior day of 2024, as the 'Cuse staff welcomed a ton of 2025 recruiting targets to the Hill.

Social media was buzzing with posts from Orange coaches and high school prospects, and it was a lot of fun to see.

Without question, head coach Fran Brown and his staff are doing stellar things on the recruiting trail. They've hauled in an excellent 2024 class that, to date, includes 20 high school seniors and 12 college transfers.

Turning to the 2025 cycle, the Orange staff has proven quite active there as well, doling out scholarship offers to highly ranked players, landing on list cuts for various targets, and welcoming prospects in the junior cycle to the Hill on visits.

To that end, Saturday was undeniably an exciting day for the Syracuse football program as it had 2025 recruits in Central New York for junior day. And that electricity, naturally, applied to the hoops game that these prospects got to watch.

Syracuse football 2025 targets had a wonderful time on the Hill for junior day.

The Orange's recruits in attendance for junior day were at the JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday afternoon as Syracuse basketball took on fellow Atlantic Coast Conference squad Miami.

The Hurricanes led for most of this game, but the 'Cuse was ahead when it mattered the most. Sophomore wing Quadir Copeland nailed a dagger 3-pointer at the buzzer, as the Orange squeaked by Miami, 72-69.

It was a lovely sight to see for Copeland, who is the consummate teammate and one of the most likable players in the history of the Syracuse basketball prorgram.

The Dome crowd, of course, went absolutely nuts when Copeland nailed that shot, and I'm so happy that Syracuse football 2025 recruits in the house got a chance to witness how positively fabulous the Dome can prove for Orange players.

Frankly, you couldn't have scripted it any better. Now, I'm in no way saying that any of these 2025 targets are going to ultimately commit to Syracuse football based on Saturday's basketball outcome. But it can only help the Orange's chances, and the team had some top-flight prospects on the SU campus for junior day.

There are too many names to mention here, but let's just say that players on the Hill for junior day appeared to be extremely impressed with the Dome crowd and Syracuse basketball's exciting triumph.

A few highly rated 2025 recruits to note include four-star quarterback Malik Washington of Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md., four-star edge Sharlandiin Strange of Cheltenham High School in Wyncote, Pa., four-star wide receiver Michael Thomas III of Donovan Catholic High School in Toms River, N.J., and four-star offensive lineman Jayvon McFadden of the Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, Md., among many others.

Additionally, early enrollees in the Orange's 2024 class were also at the exhilarating game on Saturday afternoon. This post on X from four-star edge commit KingJoseph Edwards, directly above, pretty much says it all.
