Three-star junior Renick Dorilas, a top-25 athlete and a top-10 player out of New Jersey, has put Syracuse football in his top five.

In recent days, Dorilas said via his X page that his top five consists of the Orange, Rutgers, Tennessee, Penn State and West Virginia, although he did add in that post that his recruitment remains “100% open.”

Listed on Rivals.com as 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, Dorilas suits up at both defensive back and wide receiver for Union High School in Union, N.J.

Since new Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown and his staff officially took over the ‘Cuse program in early December, they have recruited New Jersey hard, along with the rest of the Northeast Corridor.

As I’ve noted on many occasions, numerous Orange coaches, including Brown, hail from the Garden State.

Syracuse football remains in the hunt for 2025 three-star athlete Renick Dorilas.

As a member of the junior class, Dorilas’ recruiting process could have a way to go. However, per Rivals.com, he has tallied at least 15 scholarship offers at this juncture from the Orange, Akron, Boston College, UConn, Duke, Jacksonville State, Long Island, UMass, Minnesota, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Temple, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Interestingly enough, Dorilas says that his first Division I offer came from Syracuse football, back on April 6, 2022.

Multiple recruiting services rate him as a three-star prospect in the 2025 class. When I wrote this article, Rivals.com had him as the No. 22 athlete and the No. 8 player in New Jersey.

At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite placed Dorilas at No. 496 nationally, No. 52 at cornerback and No. 16 in New Jersey within the junior cycle.

Upon last glance while writing this story, a prediction had been logged in the direction of Rutgers for Dorilas on Rivals.com.

Meanwhile, On3’s recruiting prediction machine pegged Penn State as the leader for him, followed by Rutgers at No. 2 and Syracuse football at No. 3.

It’s a busy stretch for Orange coaches in the 2025 class. On two recent Saturdays, the team held junior days where it welcomed many 2025 targets to the Hill on unofficial visits.

Also lately, ‘Cuse coaches have doled out scholarship offers to some top-flight prospects in this cycle, while also making list cuts of various 2025 players, including Dorilas.

On January 27, Syracuse football got on the board with its first verbal pledge in the junior cycle. Four-star edge and top-300 national prospect Sharlandiin Strange out of Cheltenham High School in Wyncote, Pa., verbally committed to the Orange over other finalists Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Southern California.
