Since the beginning of June, the Syracuse football staff has picked up at least a dozen verbal pledges in its 2025 class, a cycle that hovers between the top 25 and the top 30 around the country at this juncture.
Before June, the Orange had 19 verbal commitments in 2025. Factor in these newer 12 pledges, then take away three guys in this class who are no longer verbally committed to the 'Cuse (Amari Colon, Sharlandiin Strange and Marcus Upton), and Syracuse football at the time of this writing had a total of at least 28 pledges, just behind Rutgers' 29 for the national lead to date.
The latest commitment landed by the Orange staff occurred this past Friday night, when 2025 three-star defensive lineman Elijah Crawford out of the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Md., chose the 'Cuse over other finalists Rutgers and West Virginia.
The Syracuse football rising high school senior cycle, when I wrote this article on Saturday, was No. 24 overall via Rivals.com, No. 31 nationally from the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, and No. 44 nationwide per the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking.
