Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown and his top-flight staff continue to bolster their already strong 2025 recruiting cycle, as three-star athlete Gabe Daniels from Georgia announced via his X page on Saturday night that he had verbally committed to the 'Cuse.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Daniels, who also runs track, primarily played wide receiver as a junior but also suits up at cornerback, according to recruiting services. He is a standout rising senior at the Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, Ga.

Daniels took an official visit to the Hill from May 31 to June 2. In early May, he disclosed a top three of Syracuse football, N.C. State and Kansas. Top 247Sports analyst Mike McAllister noted that Daniels ultimately picked the Orange over the Jayhawks.

Daniels, who has secured more than 20 offers throughout his recruiting process, received a scholarship offer from Syracuse football coaches on March 8 of this year.

New Syracuse football 2025 3-star commit Gabe Daniels discusses why he chose the 'Cuse.

Brown, who joined the 'Cuse after most recently serving as the defensive backs coach at Georgia, and his assistants continue to focus on the Northeast corridor as a recruiting emphasis, while also recruiting other states hard, such as Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Texas and Ohio, among others.

In an interview with recruiting analyst Charles Kang of The Juice Online, Daniels said he verbally pledged to the Orange because of his "relationship with the coaching staff. I believe in the Franchise and we building something special, trust me."

According to a post on his X page from last November, as a junior during the 2023 season for Greater Atlanta Christian, Daniels recorded 31 receptions, 700 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns.

In an evaluation, 247Sports national scouting analyst Hudson Standish wrote in part that Daniels is a "field-stretching wideout" and his speed "significantly raises his long-term ceiling. We'll have a close eye on Daniels as a senior, because if he puts it all together he will quickly shoot up the board."

Both of the industry-generated rating systems, the 247Sports Composite and the On3 Industry Ranking, have Daniels in the top 850 around the country within the 2025 class, while ESPN places him as a top-50 athlete in this cycle.

On Saturday, McAllister reported that 2025 four-star edge Sharlandiin Strange from Pennsylvania and 2025 three-star safety Amari Colon from New York are no longer verbally committed to Syracuse football. According to McAllister, "both may go the junior college route."

With Strange and Colon off the board, at least for now, coupled with the verbal pledge from Daniels, the Orange's 2025 class when I wrote this story on Sunday morning stood at 26 verbal commitments.

At the time of this writing, the 'Cuse 2025 cycle arrived at No. 25 nationally via the 247Sports Composite and No. 20 overall, according to Rivals.com.

A heartfelt congrats and welcome from Orange Nation to Gabe!
