Offensive lineman Aaryn Parks, a former Syracuse football recruiting target who was highly ranked in high school, is on an official visit to the ‘Cuse this weekend, as first reported by top analyst Mike McAllister, the publisher of SyracuseOnSI.

Parks, who hails from Maryland, is a redshirt junior at Big 12 Conference school Oklahoma. He entered the NCAA’s transfer portal on December 15.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 301 pounds on the Sooners’ Web site, Parks redshirted in the 2020 season, he didn’t play at all in 2021, he appeared in five games in 2022 and then in three contests this past term in 2023.

McAllister writes that Parks is expected to have two years of collegiate eligibility left.

Parks is from Seat Pleasant, Md. He was a four-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class who attended the National Christian Academy in Oxon Hill, Md.

In national transfer rankings this cycle, Rivals.com places Parks as three stars and No. 110 overall.

During his high school recruitment, Parks was rated in the top 250 around the country, according to several recruiting Web sites.

Rivals.com was the most bullish on him, with Parks arriving at No. 69 nationally, No. 9 at offensive tackle and No. 6 in Maryland. The industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranked him No. 205 overall, No. 7 at offensive guard and No. 8 in Maryland.

Parks held around 20 scholarship offers in high school. Besides the Orange and Oklahoma, his offer sheet included teams such as Georgia, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi State, N.C. State, North Carolina, Oregon, Purdue, Rutgers, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

In recent days and stretching into the weekend, Syracuse football coaches have been welcoming numerous recruits to Central New York on visits.

Those visitors include offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua, a junior at Southeastern Conference school Florida who entered the transfer portal on December 30 and held a ‘Cuse offer while a 2020 three-star prospect from the Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore.

Additional Syracuse football recruits who recently traveled to the Hill for a visit, or are visiting the Orange program over the weekend, include defensive tackle Michael Nwokocha, a freshman at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas; three-star offensive tackle/offensive guard Shun’markus Adams, a freshman at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas; and three-star offensive lineman Jalen Travis, who is a senior at Princeton.
