Syracuse football coaches continue to focus some of their recruiting efforts on landing additional players on the offensive and defensive lines.

To that end, the Orange coaching staff has recently welcomed or will soon host several linemen targets on official visits to the Hill, according to separate reports from SyracuseOnSI publisher Mike McAllister.

For one, defensive tackle Michael Nwokocha reportedly went on an official visit to the ‘Cuse on January 4, per a post on X from The Portal Report and later confirmed by McAllister.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Nwokocha is a freshman at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas.

Besides the Orange, which offered a scholarship to Nwokocha on December 27, he has offers from various high-major programs, including Georgia, Houston, Tennessee, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Arizona State, Indiana, Mississippi State and Purdue, among others, according to his bio on the 247Sports Web site.

Syracuse football wants to add more depth on the offensive and defensive lines.

McAllister also reports that three-star offensive tackle/offensive guard Shun’markus Adams was expected to take an official visit to the Orange from January 4 through January 6.

The 6-foot-4, 330-pound Adams is a freshman at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. Per 247Sports, he has scholarship offers from teams such as USF, UAB, Toledo, UMass, UTSA, Louisiana Tech and Georgia Southern.

College squads showing interest in Adams include Syracuse football, Florida State and Missouri, according to 247Sports.

According to McAllister, Princeton offensive lineman transfer Jalen Travis will take an official visit to Syracuse football from January 15 to January 17. The 6-foot-9, 315-pound Travis, a senior offensive tackle, was offered a scholarship by the ‘Cuse on December 10.

Other offers that he has reported via his X page include North Carolina, Northwestern, Arizona State, South Carolina, Houston, Duke, Kansas, Rutgers and Iowa State.

In national transfer rankings, Travis is in the top 300 overall, according to both 247Sports and Rivals.com. At offensive tackle, when I wrote this article, 247Sports ranked him No. 16 across the country.

On January 3, the Orange received a verbal commitment from Da’Metrius Weatherspoon, a redshirt sophomore offensive lineman at Howard.

On January 1, three-star defensive lineman Dion Wilson Jr. committed to Syracuse football. He is a junior at New Mexico State.

Three-star offensive lineman Joshua Miller, a Georgia freshman, has pledged to the Orange, along with 2024 three-star offensive linemen Noah Rosahac of Jim Thorpe Area High School in Jim Thorpe, Pa., and Willie Goodacre of John H. Guyer High School in Denton, Texas.
