Syracuse Football: 4-star offensive tackle Ziyare Addison, who has SU offer, names top 9
By Neil Adler
Ziyare Addison, a four-star offensive tackle in the 2025 class from Florida who was offered by Syracuse football earlier this year, has disclosed his nine finalists. The Orange didn't make the cut.
Per a post on X from On3 national recruiting expert Hayes Fawcett, Addison's top nine consists of Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Stanford and UCLA.
While I'm bummed that the 'Cuse is no longer a contender for the 6-foot-5, 280-pound Addison, I'm wishing Ziyare nothing but success moving forward as his recruitment carries on.
In late January of this year, Addison said on his X page that he had received a scholarship offer from the Syracuse football staff, led by head coach and ace recruiter Fran Brown.
Given that Addison's offer sheet totals more than 40 high-major programs, it was likely going to prove a steep climb for the Orange to prevail in his recruitment.
Syracuse football isn't in the top nine of 2025 four-star offensive tackle Ziyare Addison.
Addison is a standout athlete who attends Sumner High School in Riverview, Fla. According to his X account, beyond football, he also wrestles and runs track.
All of the primary recruiting services, within the 2025 cycle, rate Addison in the top 300 nationally and in the top 35 at his position.
Currently, his top rankings in the rising high school senior class come from 247Sports, which places Addison at No. 140 overall, No. 14 at offensive tackle and No. 19 in Florida.
While the 'Cuse is out of the running, so to speak, for Addison, Brown and his assistants to date have assembled a strong 2025 recruiting class.
When I wrote this article, the Orange had at least 19 verbal commitments in its 2025 cycle. At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rated the Syracuse football 2025 class at No. 11 around the country, with the 'Cuse checking in at No. 6 nationwide via Rivals.com.
What's more, I find it intriguing that the Syracuse football staff is hitting a bunch of different states hard with their recruiting efforts. Yes, the Northeast corridor - including New Jersey, New York, the Washington, D.C., market and the Philadelphia area - remains a big-time focus.
Simultaneously, Orange coaches are finding success in numerous other states, including Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio and Georgia, among others.
Speaking of the Sunshine State, in the team's 2026 cycle, it has verbal pledges from a trio of four-star prospects so far. Two of those 'Cuse verbal commits in this class hail from Florida.
