Syracuse Basketball: 4-star wing who recently visited skyrockets in national rankings
By Neil Adler
Recruiting service 247Sports updated its national rankings for the 2025 class this week, and Syracuse basketball recruit London Jemison from Connecticut made one of the largest jumps around the country in this refresh.
As noted by 247Sports national analyst Travis Branham, the 6-foot-8 Jemison climbed an impressive 65 spots to No. 59 nationally in the junior cycle.
Currently, 247Sports also rates the four-star Jemison as the No. 15 small forward and the No. 2 player in Connecticut within his class.
I think it’s safe to say that he is one of the fast-rising prospects these days in the 2025 cycle. Not too long ago, when On3 put out its latest national ratings for this class, Jemison went from unranked and into the top 100.
Syracuse basketball is recruiting four-star small forward London Jemison hard.
While the Orange coaching staff has offered scholarships to nearly 20 prospects in the 2025 class, as far as I can tell, the ‘Cuse is prioritizing around seven or eight high school juniors, including Jemison.
At the end of last December, he took an official visit to the Hill, and by all accounts, Jemison’s trip to Central New York went well.
Shortly thereafter, he told SyracuseOnSI publisher Mike McAllister in an interview, “Syracuse is definitely high on my list. It was a really good visit. Coach G-Mac (Gerry McNamara) and coach Red (Adrian Autry) and all the staff, they really made me feel like it’s a good place that could take me to the next level. I would just say it was a good experience.”
Orange coaches offered a scholarship to Jemison in late September of last year. The Bloomfield, Conn., native is a standout at the powerhouse St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn., which is a member of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (“NEPSAC”).
Jemison, who announced in early May that he would reclassify from the 2024 cycle to the 2025 class, holds offers from other schools such as Notre Dame, Villanova, Xavier, Providence, Virginia, Temple, George Mason, Boston University, Rice, Saint Joseph’s, Rhode Island, Yale, Fairfield, UMass and Brown.
Per McAllister’s recent article, Jemison is looking at more potential campus visits in the future, and some of the college squads that could be in the mix include Notre Dame, Xavier, Virginia and Providence.
Besides his massive jump in the 247Sports national rankings, On3’s recent update had Jemison at No. 93 overall, No. 19 at power forward and No. 2 in Connecticut.
When I wrote this column on Wednesday evening, the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking rated Jemison at No. 93 nationwide, No. 18 at power forward and No. 3 in Connecticut within the 2025 cycle.
