Ryder Frost, a fast-rising 2025 prospect from Massachusetts who has officially visited Syracuse basketball, will make his commitment announcement this Friday and has the Orange in his final six.
That's according to 247Sports national analyst Dushawn London. Per a post on X from London, the 6-foot-6 Frost will make his college decision known on September 27 at 4 pm via the 247Sports YouTube channel.
His six finalists are Syracuse basketball, Michigan, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Iowa and Virginia Tech. Per recruiting services, Frost has gone on official visits to all of these schools.
Based on comments I've come across of late from recruiting insiders, I do not expect the 'Cuse to hear its name called by Frost on Friday, but you never know how things will ultimately pan out until an announcement is made.
Syracuse basketball is in the final six of 2025 four-star wing Ryder Frost.
When I wrote this article on Tuesday afternoon, I did not see any analyst predictions for Frost on the 247Sports Web site, Rivals.com or the On3 Web site.
Frost, in recent months, saw his offer sheet blow up as he starred for the 17U team of the Boston-based Middlesex Magic in the Under Armour Association league. He is a senior at the Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H.
In late May, 'Cuse coaches offered a scholarship to Frost, who in total has landed more than two dozen offers. The following month, in late June, the top-100 national prospect took his official visit to Syracuse basketball.
In August, Frost dropped a top eight of the Orange, Penn State, Michigan, BYU, Notre Dame, Iowa, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin. Per London's X post and article, BYU and Penn State are no longer in contention for Frost.
To date, the 'Cuse staff has one 2025 pledge. In late May, five-star forward and top-15 national prospect Sadiq White Jr. from Charlotte, N.C., verbally committed to Syracuse basketball.
As far as I can tell, Syracuse basketball coaches remain in pursuit of several other 2025 targets, including four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony from New York City, four-star point guard Tyler Jackson from Baltimore and four-star wing/small forward Shon Abaev from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., all of whom have officially visited the Orange.
The 'Cuse coaching staff also has a scholarship out to 2025 four-star big man Asher Elson from New York City.
