Syracuse basketball on hand for 4-star Kiyan Anthony, who has 2 new visits scheduled

Syracuse basketball coaches continue to recruit 2025 four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony extremely hard, although other suitors remain in pursuit of the New York City product as well.
The 6-foot-5 Anthony, a senior at the powerhouse Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., has the Orange in his top six, along with Ohio State, Auburn, Rutgers, Florida State and Southern California.
A top-30 national prospect in the 2025 cycle, Anthony received a scholarship offer from the 'Cuse staff in November of 2022. He took an official visit to Syracuse basketball in late October of last year, and Anthony has also officially visited fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school Florida State.
When the fall recruiting period commenced on September 4, Anthony conducted an in-home visit with the Orange coaching staff, according to 247Sports national analyst Dushawn London. This week, per the Instagram page of Long Island Lutheran, the Syracuse basketball staff was in attendance at an open gym, presumably for Anthony and perhaps other prospects with the Crusaders.
Syracuse basketball continues to prioritize 2025 four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony.
Per a report from top insiders Adam Zagoria and Charlie Parent on zagsblog.com, Anthony has scheduled upcoming official visits to Southern California and Rutgers. On3 national reporter Joe Tipton first reported this news, although his article is a subscriber-exclusive piece, so I want to respect Joe's work.
According to zagsblog.com, Anthony will officially visit Southern Cal out of the Big Ten Conference from September 26 to September 27. He will then take an official visit to Rutgers, also out of the Big Ten, from October 4 to October 6.
Regarding the Syracuse basketball program, Anthony earlier this summer said in part to zagsblog.com, "I just like the atmosphere, you know, obviously my dad went there 20 something years ago, so I just like the atmosphere, I like the family environment. The coaches, I feel like they’re recruiting me for myself, and not just because of my father. That’s what I like. I just feel like they’re rebuilding, and they’re looking to get a winning team. I feel like I can help them do that if I was to go there."
Given that his dad, long-time NBA star and future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony, starred on the Hill and helped lead the Orange to the program's only national championship in 2003, the 'Cuse fan base is eager to see where Kiyan Anthony lands for college.
Some fans believe it's basically a lock that Anthony will ultimately pick the Orange, but I'm not in that camp. That being said, in recent months, Syracuse basketball has received some analyst buzz via the On3 Web site and Rivals.com in Anthony's recruitment.
Over the past few months, Anthony has proven a stock riser in the senior class, based on his performances on the AAU circuit for the 17U squad of the Baltimore-based Team Melo in Nike's EYBL league, as well as during other showcase events.
In recent days, word has come out regarding a few other key 2025 four-star targets that Syracuse basketball is no longer in contention for, although the Orange staff remains heavily involved with Anthony and several other four-star recruits in this cycle.
In late May, the 'Cuse got on the board in this class when 2025 five-star forward and top-15 national prospect Sadiq White Jr. from Charlotte, N.C., verbally committed to the Orange. The 6-foot-8 White, a senior at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., is expected to take an official visit to the 'Cuse this weekend.
