By Neil Adler
Syracuse basketball 2024 four-star commit Elijah Moore and his JellyFam teammates knocked off the No. 1 squad in the Atlanta-based professional league Overtime Elite on Saturday afternoon in the Big Apple.
Playing on the Brooklyn, N.Y., campus of Long Island University, the 6-foot-4 Moore had a terrific showing as JellyFam stormed back to defeat the City Reapers, 76-70.
Moore, an elite shooting guard and a top-60 national prospect in the 2024 cycle, is a senior at the Our Saviour Lutheran School in the Bronx, N.Y., which operates as JellyFam in Overtime Elite games. He is officially signed with the Orange.
Entering Saturday's battle, JellyFam was 5-4 in Overtime Elite competition, while the City Reapers stood at 8-2, good for No. 1 in the league's standings.
The City Reapers, whose 2023-24 roster includes 'Cuse 2025 target Tyler Jackson, a five-star point guard, led for much of this contest, taking a six-point advantage into the fourth quarter. However, JellyFam outscored this opponent 30-18 in the fourth quarter to prevail by a half-dozen points.
Syracuse basketball 2024 four-star commit Elijah Moore went off in a win.
In the victory for JellyFam (6-4), Moore notched 23 points, eight rebounds and three assists in roughly 33 minutes of action. He connected on 8-of-18 from the field and made three shots from beyond the arc.
The 6-foot-3 Jackson, in the setback for the City Reapers (8-3), tallied seven points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal in about 17 minutes. He was 3-of-5 from the field.
Jackson, a top-25 overall player in his class, was offered a scholarship by the 'Cuse in late April of last year, and he is planning to officially visit Syracuse basketball on January 27, as first reported by On3 national analyst Joe Tipton.
Parker Robinson, a 2026 combo guard, produced nine points in approximately 12 minutes of game time for the City Reapers. In late August of 2023, the 6-foot-5 Robinson took an unofficial visit to Central New York to compete in the Orange's annual Elite Camp.
In grabbing a win on Saturday afternoon in New York City, JellyFam exacted a little revenge after falling to the City Reapers last December 1, 91-82. The City Reapers, by the way, are one of several Overtime Elite teams based in Atlanta, while others like JellyFam are located around the country.
Following this conquest for JellyFam, Moore as of this writing was averaging 14.6 points per game, which is No. 9 in Overtime Elite, along with 3.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds and nearly one steal per affair. He averages about 29 minutes per contest while hitting on 43.9 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from 3-point land, and 70.0 percent from the free-throw line.
