A Syracuse basketball commit and an Orange recruit will go toe to toe this Saturday afternoon in New York City in an enticing Overtime Elite encounter.

According to the Web site of the Atlanta-based professional league Overtime Elite, teams featuring ‘Cuse 2024 four-star pledge Elijah Moore and Syracuse basketball 2025 five-star target Tyler Jackson will square off in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The 6-foot-4 Moore, a top-60 national prospect who has officially signed with the Orange, is a senior at the Our Saviour Lutheran School in the Bronx, N.Y., which in Overtime Elite games operates as JellyFam. Moore is one of the top shooting guards in his class.

The 6-foot-3 Jackson, a top-25 overall player in the junior cycle who received a scholarship offer from the ‘Cuse coaching staff in late April of last year, plays for the City Reapers, which is one of several Overtime Elite squads based in Atlanta. Jackson is an elite point guard in his cycle.

Per the Overtime Elite Web site, JellyFam and the City Reapers are scheduled to tip-off at 1 pm on January 20 from the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University.

Syracuse basketball commit Elijah Moore will face off with a five-star recruit.

To date, the City Reapers are 8-2 in Overtime Elite competition, while JellyFam is 5-4. Back on December 1 of 2023, at the start of the league’s 2023-24 regular season, the City Reapers defeated JellyFam, 91-82.

According to statistics provided by Overtime Elite, Moore is averaging 28.6 minutes, 13.7 points, 3.2 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, while connecting on 43.8 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from deep and 62.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Jackson, meanwhile, is averaging 17.3 minutes, 7.9 points, 4.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds per contest, while hitting on 41.4 percent from the field, 44.0 percent from 3-point land and 75.0 percent from the charity stripe.

Not too long ago, as first reported by On3 national analyst Joe Tipton, Jackson scheduled his first official visit for January 27, and it is to Syracuse basketball.

Another City Reapers player for ‘Cuse fans to monitor in this match-up with JellyFam is 2026 combo guard Parker Robinson.

In late August of last year, the 6-foot-5 Robinson went on an unofficial visit to the Hill to compete in the Orange’s annual Elite Camp.

To the best of my knowledge, he doesn’t yet hold a scholarship offer from Syracuse basketball, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Orange coaches offer Robinson at some point.

In Overtime Elite competition, Robinson is averaging 16.7 minutes, 8.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He is making 46.0 percent of his attempts from the field, 43.6 percent from beyond the arc and 81.8 percent from the free-throw line.
