Fast-rising big man Asher Elson, who holds a Syracuse basketball offer, will spend his senior season with the Atlanta-based professional league Overtime Elite, according to a recent press release.

The 6-foot-10 power forward/center, a four-star, top-120 national prospect in the 2025 class, is one of at least 10 players who have signed on with Overtime Elite over the last month, the league said in its announcement.

It's unclear to me at this juncture which Overtime Elite squad Elson will suit up for in the 2024-25 season. I assume that will get disclosed at some point in the near future. Overtime Elite has several teams based in Atlanta, while others are located around the country.

The Orange staff offered a scholarship to Elson in mid-April of this year. He hails from New York City and played quite well this spring and summer on the AAU circuit, earning praise from national analysts and scouts.

Syracuse basketball four-star recruit Asher Elson has signed with Overtime Elite.

As a junior, Elson was a standout with South Shore High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., which is a member of New York City's Public Schools Athletic League ("PSAL").

Per Overtime Elite, in the 2023-24 campaign, Elson averaged 16 points and six rebounds per game and was named to the PSAL 4A All-League first team.

During the most recent AAU season, Elson performed well for the 17U team of the Bronx, N.Y.-based New York Gauchos in the Adidas 3SSB league. In the 3SSB regular season this past spring, for example, he averaged 10.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest while receiving inclusion on The Circuit's All-Breakout team.

Beyond the Orange, Elson's offer sheet includes schools such as Georgia Tech, Creighton, Illinois, St. John's, Temple, UAB and Fordham, according to recruiting services.

Regarding his upcoming senior year in Overtime Elite, one expert who extensively covers New York City hoops and recruiting said of Elson, "That stage should definitely give him elite-level competition and maximize his visibility."

Syracuse basketball recruiting enthusiasts should be familiar with Overtime Elite. For one, 'Cuse incoming freshman Elijah Moore, a 2024 four-star shooting guard, had a terrific senior term while playing for the Bronx-based Our Saviour Lutheran School, which operates as JellyFam in Overtime Elite.

In 2023-24, the City Reapers captured the Overtime Elite championship. Two members of that team's roster were 2025 four-star point guard Tyler Jackson and 2026 four-star combo guard Parker Robinson.

Jackson, offered by the Orange in late April of 2023, took an official visit to Syracuse basketball this past January. Per the X account HS Top Recruits, he has upcoming visits planned to TCU, West Virginia and Maryland.

Robinson, meanwhile, holds interest from the 'Cuse staff. He competed in the Orange's annual Elite Camp in late August of last year. On June 15, college coaches could start initiating direct communication with 2026 prospects, and media reports stated that Robinson heard from Syracuse basketball.
