Aaron Womack, an under-the-radar 2025 prospect who recently gave a verbal commitment to Syracuse basketball, is a big-time shooter in the senior class who continues to expand his all-around game, multiple experts tell me.

The 6-foot-5 Womack, a three-star wing and nationally ranked player per On3, verbally pledged to the Orange on September 30 after taking an official visit to the Hill. The Milwaukee-area product chose the 'Cuse over scholarship offers from schools such as Buffalo, Illinois State, Murray State, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Southern Utah and William & Mary, among others.

In the wake of Womack's commitment to Syracuse basketball, I caught up with several national scouts to get a better sense of this new Orange pledge's skill set. The consensus among these experts was clear: Womack is an excellent shooter.

He joins five-star forward and top-15 national prospect Sadiq White Jr. from Charlotte, N.C., in the team's 2025 cycle, as the 'Cuse coaching staff continues to pursue several other four-star targets in the high school senior class, including talented shooting guard and top-30 overall player Kiyan Anthony from New York City, who has the Orange in his final three.

Scouts weigh in on new Syracuse basketball 2025 three-star commit Aaron Womack.

Womack attends Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, Wis., near Milwaukee. As a junior in the 2023-24 season, per top 247Sports analyst Mike McAllister, Womack averaged 21.9 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game as Dominican went 24-4 overall.

More recently, over the spring and summer, Womack caught the attention of national analysts and scouts while soaring for the 17U team of the Wisconsin Playground Club on the Under Armour Association ("UAA") circuit.

Currently, the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking, Rivals.com and On3 rate Womack as three stars. When I wrote this column, the On3 Industry Ranking placed him at No. 279 overall, No. 47 at small forward and No. 9 in Wisconsin within the 2025 class.

Jamie Shaw, a top national analyst/scout with On3, had this to say about Womack: "Shooting is his thing. Aaron Womack has nice length and good shooting touch with range, especially off the catch. He plays with confidence and given his athletic dimensions should provide some defensive upside."

Max Feldman, a top scout with MADE Hoops, echoed Shaw's sentiments, telling me that Womack is a "big-time shooter." Feldman notes that Womack continues to expand his all-around game and build up his body, "but he can really, really make shots off the catch and doesn't need much time or space to get it off. Easy to see the vision with him long-term."

Brian Reichert, a top reporter with Rivals.com and NYCHoops.net, agrees that Womack is a stellar jump shooter. Reichert adds that this new Syracuse basketball commit is effective at creating his own shots and can score with proficiency at all three levels.

Top scout Trent Markwith, the owner of Relentless Hoops, says that Womack "had a good summer" but perhaps flew under the radar a bit. Womack will need to add strength and keep improving as a two-point scorer, Markwith acknowledges, but the scout says Womack is a "really good shooter" who has a quick release with a soft touch.

Scouts said that Womack's length and footwork could afford him the foundation to be a solid defender at the collegiate level. At this juncture, several experts say Womack may not have a sizable immediate impact for the Orange as a freshman, but he has the potential to develop into a good to great player for the 'Cuse over the longer term.
