Aaron Womack, a fast-rising three-star wing in the 2025 class, took an official visit to Syracuse basketball this past weekend.

He came away so impressed with the Orange program that, after earning a scholarship offer during his visit to the Hill, he verbally committed to the 'Cuse before he went home, according to media reports, including one from top 247Sports analyst Mike McAllister.

The 6-foot-5 Womack, who hails from the Milwaukee area, becomes the second verbal pledge for Syracuse basketball in the senior cycle. In late May, 2025 five-star forward and top-15 national prospect Sadiq White Jr. from Charlotte, N.C., verbally committed to the Orange.

Womack has received a variety of scholarship offers from other college programs. They include Buffalo, Illinois State, Murray State, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Southern Utah and William & Mary, among others, according to recruiting services and media reports.

But in several recent interviews, Womack said that the opportunity to play at a high level, in a major conference, and for a frenetic fan base was something that he couldn't pass up, hence his verbal pledge to the 'Cuse earlier this week. A big congrats and welcome from Orange Nation to Aaron!

Syracuse basketball has two 2025 commitments and is pursuing several other targets.

Womack is a senior at Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, Wis., near Milwaukee. As a junior in the 2023-24 campaign, he averaged 21.9 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, per McAllister. Last season, according to MaxPreps, Dominican went 24-4 overall and 12-2 in Wisconsin's Metro Classic Conference.

This past spring and summer, Womack earned a lot of praise from national analysts and scouts as he put together some big performances for the 17U team of the Wisconsin Playground Club on the Under Armour Association ("UAA") circuit.

Currently, Womack is rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com. I'm not seeing him in the 2025 national rankings at this juncture, but with a strong senior year at Dominican, that could certainly change.

Per McAllister's article, Syracuse basketball general manager Alex Kline has been "heavily involved" in the Orange's recruitment of Womack. "I had a good feeling about the school once I got down there," Womack said of the 'Cuse to McAllister. "I like the offense, which felt like a system I could play in. I always wanted to play on a high level and every coach there believes I can. They see so much potential in me and I believe they can develop me into a better player and a better man."

According to various reports, while on his official visit, Womack was at the JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday afternoon when Syracuse football defeated non-conference foe Holy Cross, 42-14. "It was crazy to see so much orange in one spot," Womack said. "Fans were always bringing the energy when it was needed. I bet it gets even louder for basketball games."

In an interview with top On3 national reporter Joe Tipton, Womack described his game this way. "I would say I like to play fast, shoot 3s, and just find ways to score, even playing the passing lanes on defense. I would describe my game as a shooter and play an all-around game. I can use my length and athleticism to block shots and get up for dunks."

As far as his future time in Central New York, Womack said to Tipton, "Syracuse fans better get their season tickets early. It’s time to get back and make a deep run in the tournament. I will give it my all to help the team in whatever way I can."

With Womack and White on board, Syracuse basketball coaches will look to potentially add other targets to the Orange's 2025 class. Keep an eye on four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony, four-star wing/forward Shon Abaev, four-star point guard Tyler Jackson and four-star big man Asher Elson.

Then again, the 'Cuse coaching staff could be in pursuit of other high school seniors, with those recruitments by the Orange flying a bit under the national radar, similar to Womack's.
