Once a new Syracuse basketball head coach is revealed, and his assistant staff, including a general manager, are in place, that group will get to work on their 2026-27 roster.
It remains to be seen if any current Orange players will return. The new coaching staff could also bring in their own players, whether from their existing roster (or rosters) and/or high school signees whom they've secured. The new staff will also hit the transfer portal hard; the portal will run from April 7 to April 21.
Further out, though, Syracuse basketball coaches will want to start developing relationships with high school prospects across the 2027, 2028 and 2029 classes. The previous Orange coaching staff had offered scholarships to various guys in these three cycles. Hopefully, the new staff will re-offer some of these recruits.
The next Syracuse basketball staff must re-offer these four-star and five-star players.
