Tai Bell, a 2028 five-star point guard from Florida who is having a terrific sophomore season, is planning to take an unofficial visit to Syracuse basketball on March 6 and March 7, according to a post on X from Caden Ferguson.
Full disclosure: I have not been able to independently verify this news via my own sources, and it's at least a little curious that the 6-foot-3 Bell would visit the Orange at a time when there is significant uncertainty over the future of head coach Adrian Autry and his staff beyond the 2025-26 regular season.
Syracuse fans, get ready 👀 Class of 2028 standout Tai Bell, No. 25 nationally, is making his way to the Hill!

He’s set for an unofficial visit:
• March 6 & 7 vs. Pitt 🧡💛
Could be a big weekend for the Orange!@TaiBoogie5 pic.twitter.com/EBXwoDJdGw
Bell, by the way, did retweet the post from Ferguson. Syracuse basketball's 2025-26 regular-season finale is on Saturday, March 7, against Pittsburgh at the JMA Wireless Dome. Then, the ACC Tournament will take place from March 10 to March 14 in Charlotte, N.C.
Last July, the Orange staff offered a scholarship to Bell. To date, the 'Cuse has offered scholarships to at least 13 prospects in the high school sophomore class. Certainly, if a new head coach and assistant staff are in place beyond the current campaign, some of these SU targets could be re-offered by the new staff. That's not uncommon at all.
Five-star PG Tai Bell eyes a Syracuse basketball visit this coming weekend.
The 6-foot-3 Bell has recently visited Texas and Houston. He's also got a trip coming up to Florida this week before heading to the Orange on March 6 and March 7.
Bell is a standout at the Mater Lakes Academy in Hialeah, Fla., near Miami. He's having a ridiculous sophomore campaign. Based on social media posts and his bio on the MaxPreps Web site, Bell averages more than 30 points per contest in the 2025-26 term.

Last spring, in the latest AAU season, Bell played well for the Pembroke Pines, Fla.-based SOH Elite in the Under Armour Association ("UAA") league. His dad is former NBA player Raja Bell, a shooting guard who shined on the defensive end at the pro level.
Tai Bell's full scholarship offer sheet, beyond the 'Cuse, features teams such as Florida State, Houston, Kansas State, TCU, Purdue, South Florida and Dayton, among others.
Within the 2028 class, Bell is rated five stars by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. Several recruiting services place him as a top-25 national prospect and a top-five point guard within this cycle.
If Syracuse opens up (which is likely), I would go after:

1) Josh Schertz
2) Bryan Hodgson
One more thing to note. Bell is from the Sunshine State and holds a scholarship offer from South Florida. The head coach at South Florida (20-8 overall) is Western New York native Bryan Hodgson, whose name is coming up a lot as a potential candidate for the Syracuse basketball head coaching job should there be a change after the current campaign concludes.
