Syracuse basketball 2025 commit Sadiq White Jr. and his teammates with the powerhouse IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., scored two impressive wins over the weekend at an elite showcase in South Carolina.
The 6-foot-8 White, a five-star power forward who is rated as high as No. 16 nationally by ESPN in the high school senior class, put together a pair of strong performances for the Ascenders at The Bash, a prestigious event that took place in Columbia, S.C., from December 12 to December 14.
According to posts on X, IMG defeated the Legacy Early College in Greenville, S.C., by a final of 70-50, and the Ascenders also knocked off a top-25 team, the Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., by a final score of 80-71.
This past week, in his most recent top-25 national rankings in high school basketball, ESPN recruiting director Paul Biancardi placed IMG at No. 2 overall and Oak Hill at No. 22.
Syracuse basketball 2025 5-star commit Sadiq White Jr. is shining so far as a senior.
According to box scores posted on X from our friends at Legit Sport Stats, against the Legacy Early College, White tallied 14 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, two steals and one assist. He went 6-of-8 from the field.
When the Ascenders took down Oak Hill, a storied program in high school hoops where numerous former Syracuse basketball players have competed over the years, White produced 19 points, six boards and five assists while going an impressive 9-of-10 from the field.
IMG, Oak Hill and the Legacy Early College are all part of the country's premier high school hoops conference, the 14-team Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic"). Earlier in the 2024-25 season, White helped lead the Ascenders to victories over two top-10 opponents, the La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind., and the AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler, Ariz.
La Lumiere and AZ Compass Prep also reside in the EYBL Scholastic, so IMG is off to a fast start this season in conference play. Last month, Biancardi and multiple other high school analysts told me that IMG is a significant contender to potentially claim the EYBL Scholastic regular-season title and make a return to the stanza-ending Chipotle Nationals in the spring of 2025.
For his output at The Bash, White received high praise from various national analysts and scouts, including On3's Jamie Shaw, who is one of the top experts out there nationwide.
White is part of a Syracuse basketball 2025 class that has four signed commits and is ranked in the top 10 nationally, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. The three other pledges are four-star shooting guard Kiyan Anthony from New York City, four-star guard Luke Fennell from Melbourne, Australia, and three-star wing Aaron Womack from the Milwaukee area.
