The Syracuse basketball 2025 class, which now stands four members deep, is currently ranked in the top 10 around the country, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
A week ago, the Orange's senior cycle got a boost when 2025 four-star shooting guard and top-30 national prospect Kiyan Anthony of Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., committed to the 'Cuse over Southern California.
Numerous recruiting services rate the 6-foot-5 Anthony as a top-10 shooting guard and the No. 1 player coming out of New York state within the 2025 class.
He joins forward Sadiq White Jr. from Charlotte, N.C., guard Luke Fennell from Melbourne, Australia, and wing Aaron Womack from the Milwaukee area in the Orange's 2025 cycle. All four prospects officially signed with Syracuse basketball during the recently completed early signing period, per SU Athletics.
Syracuse basketball, at present, has a top-10 national class in the 2025 cycle.
When I wrote this article, the Orange's 2025 class checked in at No. 8 nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite. This 'Cuse cycle is currently No. 11 via Rivals.com and No. 21 per the On3 Web site.
Now, these 2025 team rankings for Syracuse basketball can ebb and flow, particularly as other college squads land top-flight seniors later on when the traditional signing period occurs in the spring of next year.
As for the Orange's 2025 recruiting efforts, I'm not aware of too many additional prospects in this cycle whom the Syracuse basketball staff is actively pursuing. Two names, though, to keep an eye on are Asher Elson and Alex Constanza.
Elson is a 2025 four-star big man out of New York City who was offered a scholarship by the 'Cuse in mid-April of this year. He has said that he's interested in visiting the Orange, but there's also the potential for him to move to the 2026 class.
Constanza is a 2026 five-star guard/small forward from Florida who took an official visit to the Hill last month and was offered by the 'Cuse this past January. His dad has told me that Syracuse basketball is among the front-runners for his son, and Constanza is considering a possible reclassification to the 2025 cycle.
Turning back to players already signed with the 'Cuse in its 2025 class, White is rated five stars and as high as No. 15 nationwide by ESPN. Not too long ago, Fennell got bumped up to four stars and into the top 125 overall of the 2025 cycle by 247Sports.
The three-star Womack, meanwhile, is currently ranked in the top 275 nationally by several recruiting services. That being said, multiple analysts and scouts I've spoken with say that Womack is an under-rated prospect, and with a strong senior campaign, he is likely to contend for four-star status.
Whether or not head coach Adrian Autry and his top-flight staff are done securing commitments in their 2025 class remains to be seen, but for my money, the Syracuse basketball staff has done a stellar job on the recruiting trail in this cycle.
