Miles McVay, a redshirt freshman offensive tackle at Alabama who is in the transfer portal, plans to visit two Atlantic Coast Conference schools in the coming days, including Syracuse football, according to a media report.

As first reported on X by top national writers Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz, both of 247Sports and CBS Sports, the 6-foot-6, 342-pound McVay has set official visits to North Carolina on December 19 and to the Orange on December 21.

The Tar Heels, last week, hired legendary NFL head coach Bill Belichick as the new head coach at UNC, and it should prove fun to watch this potential recruiting battle over McVay between Belichick and 'Cuse first-year head coach Fran Brown.

McVay said via his X page on December 9 that he would be entering the transfer portal, with three years of eligibility remaining.

No. 11 Alabama (9-3 overall), by the way, will play Michigan (7-5 overall) at the ReliaQuest Bowl on December 31 in Tampa, Fla.

Syracuse football will get a visit from Alabama 3-star OT transfer Miles McVay.

When I wrote this article on Monday, in its national transfer rankings, 247Sports placed McVay as three stars, No. 209 overall and No. 14 at offensive tackle.

As a member of the 2023 recruiting cycle, McVay was a consensus four-star prospect and standout at East St. Louis Senior High School in East St. Louis, Ill.

Within that class, both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated On3 Industry Ranking had McVay in the top 200 nationally, the top 20 at offensive tackle and the top five in Illinois.

This past weekend, according to his X page, McVay went on an official visit to Big Ten Conference member Illinois. Other potential suitors for McVay, per social media posts, might include Georgia Tech and LSU.

The current transfer portal window in college football opened for business on December 9 and will run through December 28. Among those college transfers who have already visited Syracuse football, or will likely soon, are Rhode Island junior linebacker A.J. Pena, Liberty redshirt junior quarterback Kaidon Salter, LSU redshirt freshman quarterback Rickie Collins, Virginia sophomore quarterback Anthony Colandrea, Penn sophomore running back Malachi Hosley, Central Connecticut junior offensive tackle Rahtrel Perry and Cal Poly redshirt freshman offensive tackle Brady Norton.
