At least one Syracuse basketball recruiting target in the 2028 class will walk away with a Peach Jam 16U championship on Sunday.
As Inside the Loud House reported earlier on Saturday, the Philadelphia-based Team Final has advanced to the title game of the Nike EYBL circuit's season-ending Peach Jam in the 16U division from North Augusta, S.C. Three prospects with Team Final hold an offer from the 'Cuse coaching staff.
Not too long ago, in the second semifinal, the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Team CP3 beat the Dallas-based AB Elite by a final score of 64-54. Team Final will square off against Team CP3 on Sunday, beginning at 9:00 am, for the Peach Jam's 16U title, as the current live period on the shoe-sponsored AAU circuits also wraps up on July 19.
In Team CP3's semifinal triumph, Orange target Mason Collins tallied 11 points, six rebounds, six assists, five steals and one block. The 6-foot-6 Collins, a 2028 five-star wing, received a scholarship offer from the Orange coaching staff a few days ago.
Syracuse basketball targets will vie for a Peach Jam championship on Sunday morning.
Collins, in the Peach Jam title game, will go up against three Orange recruits from Team Final. They are 2028 four star combo guard Rowan Phillips, who was offered by SU this past Friday, 2028 five-star center Logan Chwastyk and 2028 four-star combo guard Carter Smith.
The 6-foot-6 Phillips attends Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, Pa. The 6-foot-11 Chwastyk goes to the Malvern Preparatory School in Malvern, Pa., while the 6-foot-4 Smith is out of the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia.
Collins, meanwhile, is a standout at The Tatnall School in Wilmington, Del. In the 2025-26 season, he averaged 17.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3.1 blocks and 2.9 steals per contest and landed an honorable mention nod for the MaxPreps sophomore All-America teams.
It's been a busy month for Collins, a top-10 national prospect in the 2028 cycle. Earlier in July, he helped lead the United States U17 national team to the gold medal at the 2026 FIBA World Cup in Istanbul, Turkey. Last summer, Collins also won a gold medal with the Team USA U16 national team at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup in Juarez, Mexico.
Now, on Sunday, Collins has a chance to cut down the nets at the Peach Jam, and with the live period still transpiring, it's possible that the Syracuse basketball staff, led by first-year head coach Gerry McNamara, will be on hand to watch him face Phillips, Chwastyk and Smith for a coveted AAU crown.
