On Friday, the Syracuse basketball staff was on hand to watch 2028 four-star combo guard Rowan Phillips from the Philadelphia area. That day, the Orange extended a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-6, 185-pound Phillips, who is a top-25 national prospect in his class, per 247Sports.

Fast-forward to Saturday, and Phillips helped lead the 16U squad of the Philadelphia-based Team Final to a pair of victories, propelling the group to the championship game at the Peach Jam, which is the annual season-ending tournament on Nike's EYBL circuit.

Here is what Phillips did for Team Final on Saturday:
•Quarterfinal win, 70-60, over the Hampton, Va.-based Boo Williams: 22 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal (7-of-15 from the field, 2-of-5 from long range and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line)
•Semifinal win, 67-56, over the Toronto-based UPLAY Canada: 14 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 1 steal (7-of-13 from the field)

In the victory against UPLAY Canada, Team Final beat two other Orange 2028 recruits in five-star point guard Liam Mitakaro and four-star forward Settimo Yugu. Team Final's 16U squad, meanwhile, also features a pair of other 'Cuse 2028 targets in five-star center Logan Chwastyk and four-star combo guard Carter Smith.

Syracuse basketball has officially gotten into the mix for 2028 four-star guard Rowan Phillips.

On Sunday at 9:00 am, from North Augusta, S.C., Team Final will play for the Peach Jam 16U crown against either the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Team CP3 or the Dallas-based AB Elite, who are battling in the other semifinal as I write this column. Team CP3 is led by 2028 five-star wing Mason Collins, who picked up an offer from the Orange a few days ago.

Phillips has garnered interest from the Syracuse basketball program for a while. In late August of 2024, Phillips took an unofficial visit to the 'Cuse to compete in SU's annual Elite Camp when Adrian Autry was at the helm of the team.

More recently, Phillips had heard from the new Syracuse basketball staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara as the 2028 contact period opened on June 15. Now he's got an offer from SU.

Phillips is preparing for his junior season at Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, Pa. His full scholarship offer sheet, per recruiting services, includes schools such as Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pittsburgh, VCU, Villanova and Rutgers.
