Five-star point guard and top-10 national prospect Nasir Anderson from Savannah, Ga., is one of several high school seniors that the Syracuse basketball staff is prioritizing in the 2027 class.
He competes for one of the best teams in the country, Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., which went 38-4 overall and was a top-10 national program last season, with the Crew expected to be among the nation's elite again when the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Anderson is a senior in the upcoming 2026-27 campaign.
Several high school basketball experts in recent days told Inside the Loud House that Prolific Prep, led by head coach Ryan Bernardi, is a significant contender to return to the season-ending Chipotle Nationals in Fishers, Ind., next spring.
To date in his recruitment, Anderson has landed more than 30 scholarship offers, with the Orange offering him this past April. By all accounts, his recruitment remains open, and I'm not aware of any sort of list cut that he's made.
As the summer turns to fall, and the recruiting period opens up, keep an eye on which schools Anderson takes official visits to; Inside the Loud House has reported that the 'Cuse staff is working to get him on the Hill for an official visit at some point.
After checking out the talent across the board over these last few months at different settings — Beckham Black, A.J. Williams, Cayden Daughtry, Lewis Uvwo, and others round out my current top-10 prospects regardless of class right now.

So what kind of prospect is Nasir Anderson, who is the No. 2 point guard in the 2027 cycle, per multiple recruiting services? "He is a dog on the court and shows a real ability to contribute to winning," says national scout Samad Hines, writing for Babcock Hoops. "If Nasir proves he can make perimeter jumpers consistently, he will unlock his full potential."
Syracuse basketball is pushing hard for 2027 five-star point guard Nasir Anderson.
In the latest AAU season, Anderson competed for the 17U team of the Atlanta Celtics on the Adidas 3SSB circuit. He only appeared in eight games for the Atlanta Celtics due to a hip injury, averaging 18.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 2.3 steals per contest.
Last season at Prolific Prep, Anderson averaged 13 points, eight assists, five rebounds and four steals per game, and MaxPreps gave him an honorable mention nod for its 2025-26 junior All-America teams.
Philip Kirsch, a basketball analyst at media outlet Pro Insight, told Inside the Loud House earlier this week that Anderson is a "hard-nosed guard" who is "built like a Mack truck." Similar to what other analysts and scouts say, Kirsch adds that Anderson's biggest area for improvement is his outside shooting.
Hines says that Anderson "is a crafty lefty who has displayed balance between facilitating and scoring. He uses his stocky frame to get downhill and knock defenders off his path to the basket. Nasir has a football-like build and a big-guard mentality to match. He plays with toughness, consistently creates scoring opportunities for teammates, and is an effective rebounder for a point guard."
In an evaluation from late last month, Adam Finkelstein, the director of scouting for 247Sports and CBS Sports, wrote in part that Anderson is " virtually unstoppable with the ball in the open court and, while he looks physically mature, he's actually young for his grade, having turned 17 in July before his senior year. ... Beyond his physicality, Anderson has a tight handle, terrific balance and body control, both on the ground and in midair, along with an advanced layup package and the vertical explosiveness to rise up when he has momentum."
Multiple national scouts stressed that they will be watching Anderson's health and durability during his upcoming senior year at Prolific Prep following his recent hip procedure.
