When I wrote this piece, in its national transfer rankings, On3 placed Salter as four stars, No. 27 overall and No. 4 at quarterback.
As a member of the 2021 recruiting cycle, he was a standout at Cedar Hill High School in Cedar Hill, Texas. In that class, 247Sports rated him as four stars, No. 48 nationwide, No. 7 at quarterback and No. 6 in Texas. While in high school, Salter did hold a scholarship offer from the 'Cuse.
Looking ahead to the 2025 campaign for head coach Fran Brown and his top-flight staff, the team's quarterback room is likely to include redshirt senior Michael Johnson Jr., who has received a hardship waiver from the NCAA to be eligible to play next year, along with underclassmen Jakhari Williams, Luke Carney and Rich Belin.
