Arthur Jones IV, a four-star defensive lineman in the 2028 class and a Syracuse football priority recruit, was expected at the JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday for the Orange's 2026 season opener against first-time foe New Hampshire.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Jones, a standout junior at the powerhouse Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, noted his fall game-day visit schedule in a recent Instagram post. Besides his four trips to the Hill to watch the 'Cuse, Jones will take game-day visits to fellow Atlantic Coast Conference member Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Nebraska and Penn State.

Beyond SU's season opener on Saturday, Sept. 5, Jones is expected to visit Syracuse football on Saturday, Oct. 17, against Louisville; Saturday, Nov. 7, against Clemson; and Saturday, Nov. 28, against No. 4 Notre Dame.

Jones is the son of former Orange standout defensive end Arthur Jones III, who won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens and sadly passed away in October 2025. The 'Cuse staff, led by head coach Fran Brown, offered a scholarship to Arthur Jones IV in June 2025.

Iona Prep stunned CBA by a final score of 38-18, snapping the Christian Brothers Academy's 41-contest winning streak. As a sophomore in the 2025 season, when CBA went 13-0 overall and was ranked No. 3 in New York by MaxPreps, Jones tallied 65 total tackles and three forced fumbles.

Within the 2028 class, the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking places Jones at No. 223 overall, No. 23 at defensive lineman and No. 2 in New York. Over at the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, he is No. 283 nationally, No. 31 at defensive lineman and No. 2 in New York.

To date, Brown and his staff have one verbal commit in the 2028 cycle, and he is four-star offensive tackle and top-125 national prospect Omari Lawson out of the Zarephath Academy in Jacksonville, Fla. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound Lawson plans to take multiple game-day visits to Syracuse football this fall, Inside the Loud House has reported.
