Syracuse football is among a handful of college teams standing out to 2028 three-star quarterback Ayden Edwards from the West Coast.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Edwards, offered by the Orange in the spring, had a strong sophomore season for his high school in the Los Angeles area.

He's in regular communication with the 'Cuse, including new quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan, and Edwards plans to take a game-day visit to Syracuse football this fall, Inside the Loud House is told.

Edwards attends Tustin High School in Tustin, Calif. In the 2025 campaign, Tustin went 9-2 overall. According to a post on X, as a sophomore, Edwards completed 146-of-219 pass attempts for 2,102 yards with 21 touchdowns and just five interceptions.

Syracuse football is in the mix for 2028 three-star quarterback Ayden Edwards.

The Orange staff, which offered Edwards a scholarship on May 19, faces steep competition in his recruitment. Edwards' full scholarship offer sheet, per recruiting services, includes college programs such as Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Boston College, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, Purdue, Virginia Tech, Washington, SMU, Oregon State, Washington State, Colorado State, Sacramento State, Toledo and UNLV.

Some of the other teams that Edwards is high on these days include Purdue, Arizona, Arizona State and Texas A&M.

Within the 2028 class, the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking places Edwards at No. 498 overall, No. 40 at quarterback and No. 41 in California. Over at the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, he is No. 523 nationally, No. 34 at quarterback and No. 41 in California.

Another 2028 three-star quarterback from California, Jaxson Carper, is also high on the Orange in his recruiting process, as Inside the Loud House reported this past weekend. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Carper, offered by Syracuse football on July 15, attends St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, Calif., near Los Angeles.

Carper, too, wants to take a game-day visit to the 'Cuse this fall, although nothing has been scheduled yet. Teams that are standing out to Carper include SU, Arizona, UCLA, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Utah.

To date, Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown and his staff have one 2028 verbal commit. He is four-star offensive tackle and top-125 national prospect Omari Lawson of the Zarephath Academy in Jacksonville, Fla., who will take multiple game-day visits to the 'Cuse this fall, Inside the Loud House has reported.
