Last month, Syracuse football offensive coordinator Jeff Nixon offered a scholarship to 2028 three-star quarterback Jaxson Carper, who hails from the West Coast.
In recent interviews, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound Carper has said that he's excited about his July 15 offer from the Orange coaching staff. Inside the Loud House confirmed on Saturday that the 'Cuse is among several programs that Carper is high on these days, and he wants to take a game-day visit to SU this fall. Stay tuned on that.
According to his Instagram page, Carper currently holds 15 scholarship offers. They are from Syracuse, Utah, UConn, UCLA, Iowa, Nebraska, Marshall, Arizona, Kansas, Georgia State, Toledo, Virginia Tech, SMU, Sacramento State and Texas Tech.

Other college squads standing out to Carper include Arizona, UCLA, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Utah. He is a top-30 quarterback in the 2028 class, per Rivals. Both the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking place him within the top 500 nationally of his cycle.
Syracuse football is in pursuit of 2028 3-star signal-caller Jaxson Carper from California.
Carper attends St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, Calif., near Los Angeles. According to his X page, as a sophomore, he completed 141-of-234 attempts for 1,750 yards through the air and 16 passing touchdowns. He tallied 2,006 total yards and had one score on the ground in the 2025 campaign.

Carper appears grounded and has a strong work ethic. He recently told High School On SI: "Not a day goes by that I'm not doing something related to the quarterback position because I love it so much. The other guys are going to be stronger than me - I'm not the most built. But I work every single day. I've learned how to throw the ball a lot better, and I get in the classroom a lot so I can understand the game better."
In the current landscape, financial considerations are front and center for high school and college athletes, although Carper says money via rev-share and/or name, image and likeness ("NIL") deals isn't his top priority.
"I want to go somewhere I can play," Carper said to High School On SI.
According to 247Sports, the Orange staff under head coach Fran Brown has offered a scholarship to numerous 2028 quarterbacks. To date, the 'Cuse has one verbal pledge in the high school junior class.
Last October, four-star offensive tackle and top-125 national prospect Omari Lawson of the Zarephath Academy in Jacksonville, Fla., verbally committed to Syracuse football.
