The 2021-22 campaign will soon near its completion for high-school prospects around the country, and a bevy of Syracuse basketball recruiting targets are suiting up on squads highly rated in several of the latest national polls.

Earlier this week, ESPN published its most recent top 25. Making the cut are the No. 5 Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla., the No. 7 La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind., the No. 8 Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., and the No. 11 Camden High School in Camden, N.J.

MaxPreps also recently unveiled its latest top-25 rankings of those teams that compete for state championships. Camden High School is No. 7, the Imhotep Institute Charter High School in Philadelphia is No. 15, and Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, N.Y., is No. 17.

Finally, the top-25 ratings on theseasonticket.com place the Montverde Academy at No. 4, the La Lumiere School at No. 5, the Oak Hill Academy at No. 6, the Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah, at No. 15, and Camden High School at No. 16.

Let’s look at Syracuse basketball recruiting prospects on these top-flight squads.

According to theseasonticket.com, the Wasatch Academy has wrapped up its 2021-22 regular stanza with a 15-10 overall mark. One of the stand-outs on the Wasatch Academy roster is ‘Cuse 2022 commit Chris Bunch, a four-star small forward who is rated in the top-60 overall of this cycle, per some recruiting services.

The Montverde Academy line-up includes two players who hold scholarship offers from Syracuse basketball. They are 2023 five-star power forward Kwame Evans Jr. and 2024 five-star power forward Derik Queen.

Orange recruiting target Aden Holloway is a 2023 four-star point guard who has put forth a really stellar junior season for the La Lumiere School.

The ‘Cuse is expected to welcome 2022 four-star guard Judah Mintz to the Hill this coming weekend for an official visit, and he is one of the stars for the Oak Hill Academy.

One of the top juniors around the country is 2023 five-star point guard D.J. Wagner, who landed an Orange offer last August. He plays for Camden High School and has proven one of the best all-around prospects to date in the current campaign.

Justin Edwards, a 2023 five-star wing, was offered by Syracuse basketball this past summer. He is rated as a top-10 overall prospect in his class by some recruiting services, and Edwards suits up for the Imhotep Institute Charter High School.

Last but certainly not least, Orange coaches are reportedly showing interest in 2024 five-star guard Ian Jackson, who is contending for the No. 1 overall ranking in his cycle. Jackson stars for Cardinal Hayes High School.

New rankings place Syracuse basketball 5-star target as nation’s No. 1 PG. dark. Next
