Syracuse football is in the process of building up a solid core of talented offensive linemen within its 2021 recruiting class.

Following the commitment earlier this week by 2021 four-star offensive tackle Enrique Cruz to Syracuse football, the Orange now has 20 pledges within this recruiting cycle, and five of them are on the offensive line.

That is an encouraging sign, particularly since the ‘Cuse struggled on the offensive line a year ago, and the first depth chart disclosed by Syracuse football this past Monday isn’t providing a lot of optimism as the Orange gets set to face No. 18 North Carolina on the road this Saturday in the 2020 campaign opener.

The 6-foot-5, 252-pound Cruz, a senior at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, Ill., is one of the highest-rated recruits for the ‘Cuse in the 2021 class.

Per 247Sports, he is the No. 202 overall prospect in this recruiting cycle, as well as the No. 23 offensive tackle and the No. 4 high-school player in the state of Illinois.

Let’s take a look at where these other 2021 offensive linemen who have decided to join Syracuse football reside according to the most-recent recruiting rankings from 247Sports. All of them, by the way, are in the top-120 across the country at their position.

Three-star offensive tackle Tyler Magnuson is a 6-foot-5, 260-pound prospect in his senior term at Wayzata High School in Plymouth, Minn. He is placed as the No. 114 offensive tackle nationwide, as well as the No. 9 player in the state of Minnesota.

Austyn Kauhi is a three-star offensive tackle and senior at the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama High School in Honolulu. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Kauhi is the No. 116 offensive tackle overall and the No. 8 prospect in the state of Hawaii.

Wes Hoeh, a three-star offensive guard, is a senior with Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn, Ill. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Hoeh is arranged as the No. 117 offensive guard in the 2021 recruiting cycle, as well as the No. 51 player in Illinois.

Finally, Kalan Ellis is a three-star offensive guard in his senior stanza at the Saint Louis School in Honolulu. The 6-foot-5, 350-pound Ellis is situated as the No. 66 offensive guard in his class, along with the No. 7 prospect in Hawaii.

Additionally, as we just reported on Tuesday, Syracuse football remains in the running for three-star offensive tackle Christopher Adams.

Adams, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound senior from South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, Md., revealed a top six on Twitter of the Orange, as well as Duke, Virginia Tech, Florida International University, James Madison and Old Dominion.

Adams, who plans to announce his collegiate destination on Oct. 9, is the No. 110 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 40 player in the state of Maryland.
