QB. 4. Boston College. Anthony Brown. player. 826. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Syracuse football needs to add a quarterback for the 2020 cycle. The current crop of quarterbacks for next season include:

And that’s it. Clayton Welch played his final season in Orange this past year. Per 247 Sports, Syracuse doesn’t have a 2020 quarterback committed.

One name that just became available is Anthony Brown, formerly of Boston College. The Eagles made a head coaching change when they let former Syracuse football assistant Steve Addazio go a few weeks back.

It would make sense for Dino Babers and this recruiting staff to really vet the Boston College 2020 class and beyond to see if they can pilfer anyone. When coaches change that usually results in a few recruits shaking loose and Brown is a prime example.

He’s immediately eligible to play in the 2020 season due to him being a graduate. Although Anthony’s career has been derailed due to injuries:

  • Back in 2017 as a redshirt freshman, he suffered a season-ending knee injury.
  • In 2019 he saw his season once again cut short due to another knee injury.

In his three year career, he’s played in 28 games, so he has experience and solid size (6-foot-2, 220 pounds).

Anthony is a New Jersey kid who was originally recruited by Syracuse assistant Bobby Acosta who is now at Cornell. The Orange did offer Brown back in the day, so why wouldn’t they want a more experienced version in 2020?
