Jordan Campbell, a highly rated 2026 prospect from the Sunshine State, was on the SU campus this past weekend, visiting Syracuse football. And on Tuesday, per his Instagram page, he picked up a scholarship offer from the Orange staff.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Campbell, a four-star linebacker/edge rusher, is verbally committed to fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school Miami. He pledged to the Hurricanes a while back, in November of 2023.

While I don't get the sense that Campbell is considering a flip from Miami, I also don't think that 'Cuse coaches would offer him a scholarship this late in the 2026 cycle if the Orange didn't believe it had a shot here. The early signing period for 2026 football prospects arrives in December.

According to 247Sports, Campbell holds 35 offers from schools such as Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan, Missouri, N.C. State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, UCLA, UCF and USF, among many others.

Syracuse football is trying to flip Miami linebacker pledge Jordan Campbell.

Campbell is a senior at Miami Northwestern Senior High School, which won a state title in 2024 and is poised to repeat in the current campaign. What's notable here is that two of Campbell's teammates are Orange 2026 verbal pledges.

They are five-star wide receiver Calvin Russell lll and four-star defensive back Tedarius Hughes. Russell, a top-25 national prospect, verbally committed to Syracuse football in July of this year. He took an official visit to the Hill this past weekend.

Hughes, a top-400 national prospect and a top-25 safety in this class, was also visiting the Orange last weekend, alongside Campbell and Russell. On Tuesday, word broke that Hughes was flipping his verbal commitment from Florida State to Syracuse football.

It can't hurt the Orange's chances with Campbell that he's teammates with Hughes and Russell, and that all three were on the SU campus this past weekend. Something to monitor.

Within the 2026 class, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Campbell is No. 188 overall, No. 8 at linebacker and No. 26 in Florida. Over at the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking, he is No. 186 nationally, No. 25 at edge and No. 27 in Florida.

The Orange has 30 verbal pledges in 2026, eight of whom are from the Sunshine State. The team's 2026 cycle is No. 23 around the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.
